When you aren't in combat (or Drezen), you can just quicksave and reload.. and the companion is back. But it is super annoying and most definitely a bug.
But in the case of Regil's Quest... you get teleported to the chat, the animal companion gets gone, and depending on what you say in the chat with the Demon you will go straight into combat. Without your Animal Companion, and you can't just quicksave and reload to get it back.
Giving a summon animal companion button, if the bug itself is to difficult to fix, would be a solution to the issue.
After solving the Puzzle if you fight Lilithu the Druid Animal Companion also doesn't return under the control of the Player
It stays gone in the Citadel. If you want it to join you in Drezen, you have to enter from the Map onto the Streets. Its the only way i have found how my animal companion joins me in Drezen, so i can equip them there. As soon as you enter the Citadel its gone until you exit out onto the Worldmap, then reenter Drezen into the Streets.
Other maps it works to quicksave and load. It is super annoying, however.
im having the experience in the camp TO drezen.... just started Act 2 on current run and Seelah horse is gone.... while I know I can just leave and fix it... there are some times during Act 2 where you dont have that option without triggering a scripted event... like siege of drezen... which I had that happen to me in an earlier save...
yeah... also its not something you would readily notice im sure in Act 2 since you spend very little time in camp itself as you make way to Drezen... it probably happens more than I realize but only notice it when im trying to level or move around gear before heading out...
ten thousand delights?..... dont think I wanna know where its been....
Edit: Nevermind. I must not have noticed it. Paying attention to it now, each time i go into the TTD my Animal Companion stays at the door, uncontrollable.
Also during Regil's Duel during the Hellknight Trail i will get control of Aivu (but she can't get into the circle, but still buff and cast spells). And while i feel like my Animal Companion is part of the Power of my Class, after all the Class is balanced around having the Animal Companion, it didn't bother me to much that my AC was gone for the Duel... and it was actually Aivu that should have been gone too, as at this point she has enough reach that i could stand close enough to the edge and have her fight for my Character.
