The crystals are quite possibly the worst enemies to fight in the game, because the save DC is high enough that anyone that doesn't have a full fort save progression (Fighters, Paladins, ect) have a 0% chance of resisting the stun. If memory serves, the exact DCs on Normal are 38 for the Greaters and 42 for the bigger Ancients. Which means you need at minimum +18 to +22 to even start to have a chance to resist, and even then only on a high roll. Multiply that by however many are in the encounter and even the members with the best saves can fail because they happened to get a low roll once in three effects.
There are no stun-specific buffs, so all you can do is buff your Fort save directly and use the Luck domain power for rerolls if you have a chance. But honestly, if you happen to get a lucky roll leverage it by killing them one at a time as fast as possible with your heaviest hitting spells or abilities. Don't even bother with healing or de-petrifying until a couple of them are down, save it for if you survive.
So that is full demonslayer which I think was level 14 or 15? Then +4 great fortitude. +4 cape. +2 heroism. +4 or 5 from con(14 con I think and con boosting items maybe?). +1 luck. Maybe it was all just mythic feat unstoppable. I remember thinking that was really good so I gave it to all melee I think. Plus the character was angel so I don't remember what the aura did.
I remember getting the three two weapon fighting feats and that was about it. I didn't get weapon focus.
I wanted to state how con might be good too for a stat but I don't know enough about pathfinder. Are you guys dumping con?
I did remember thinking that the crystals had tons of health. So perhaps I was stunned except the main guy and slowly picked them apart.
- has high saves thanks to Paladin's Divine Grace ability (adds her CHA modifier to all saves, it's passive)
- has 2-lvl spell "Bestow Grace" that allows her to buff Good-aligned party members saves with her CHA modifier (single target, lasts minute/round) - works on Sosiel, Ember, late game Aru, Ulbrig and MC, if Good.
- if you gave her Mercy: Stunned, she can remove that status with her Lay On Hands ability
If you happen to have Daeran in your core party and gave him Second Mystery: Nature mythic ability, from level 11 he can pick Friends to Animals Mystery which passively adds his CHA modifier to all pets saves (works for animal summons as well).
Carnivorous Crystals are fairly easy to trip, so 2-4 doggos/wolves (with Bully archetype) are great to make quick work of them - as anything that tries to get up after being tripped provokes Attacks of Opportunity (and can be tripped again in the process).
And then there is "Bane of Spirit" ring (one of relics you can get from the Crusade):
https://pathfinderwrathoftherighteous.wiki.fextralife.com/Bane+of+Spirit
It allows you to convert any damage dealt by anyone in your party (pets and summons included) into force type. Force damage doesn't care about damage reduction thus your toons can kill things quickly.
Note that it has only 1 round duration/use and that it costs the wearer half-of-their-level number of hitpoints per use. OTOH conversion is free action, so in turn based mode you can easily repeat it as many times as you want without using your regular combat actions (provided you won't move while performing conversion). I usually give to Lann because:
- the way I build him, he ends up with the highest Initiative, so he can convert anyone's damage before they move
- he's both ranged and sturdy enough to survive multiple rounds of those conversions without in-battle healing
If you take both Lann and Aru to the Fane, it's fairly easy to keep them out of the Subsonic Hum's area of effect by toggling Point Blank off. Regular piercing damage is ♥♥♥♥ against those crystals. But if you convert it into force? Deadly.
Isn't Bestow Grace only for LG characters? Edit: NVM. That's the Cleric spell.
