How does the world map work with the army?
I don't understand how the Crusader Army works. I downloaded a world map image and I can clearly see paths leading to different areas and enemy forts but for some reason the army seems to not see them. Why is this? Considering how big the map is and the fact that if I try to go anywhere on it I end up suffering from plague it would be really helpful if the army could go to a fort, take it out and I could build a teleportation circle on it. Instead I have to find the path for them myself. Can someone explain if I'm missing something here? Is there a "Pathfinder" unit or something that can open the map for the army because quite frankly the Crusade stuff completely sucks and takes way too much time to micromanage.

You only unlock certain paths as you get through the story, specifically you get more of the map open to you the later the act you are in.

If you're only in act 1 you should only have the bottom right of the map open to you.

the image you got is probably of the "complete" map. Paths need to be "explored" first, and it can be done by either your squad, or the army. Just click on the little purple arrows that pop up around your army when you have them selected, they'll move to the next available node / intersection, and if a new arrow pops up, that means there's a new path they can explore there. One a path is explored, your army will go from point A to point B through it without issue.

If you explore with your army and you see a path that your army can't go down, that means it's something only your personal squad can explore, usually has some small side-objective like a point of interest, quest location, or crafting material spot at the end of it.

There's a couple of places where the map I downloaded shows small purple dot to another small purple dot but when the army goes to one of them there's no path leading to the other one. It probably is something that I'll need to explore first.

To be specific I'm trying to get my army to the fort west of Pulura's Falls. I haven't been to the Falls yet but I was trying to get my army to go around the nameless lake but at the 4-way dot just north of Blackwater the path leading southwest doesn't appear for them.
