Can you stop your own character from making attacks of opportunity?
I have a mage with a quarterstaff that goes invisible before a fight starts, but gives himself away by goofily attacking enemies that get within reach and walk past him. Is there a way to tell him to... not do that?

Maybe turn off AI intelligence? If not that I'm sure someone else will have an answer.

I play in turn based, so there's no AI intelligence turned on. Just seems a default setting to make all AoO when able... and I'm 90% of the time fine with that, except when I'm trying to be a sneaky bard. lol

There are a few issues like this. Another you might run across that has messed me up a few times is it will default to a full attack. Even if the enemy doesn't take more than one attack so shouldn't/doesn't need more than one attack to take down so you should be able to still make your 30 of movement. I haven't found a way to be able to make the choice between them.

I don't think so. However, these awful options might work:

* use a ranged weapon (or no weapon)
* permanently blind yourself, and don't fix it

Ranged weapons do not make AoO attacks. At least not without the "Snap Shot" feat.

Ya.... I know that. I wanted to use the quarter staff to increase the DC of spells cast, but meh~ He's mostly buffing and support anyway, so I can make him grab a bow instead. Just a bit frustrating lol

This is what the hotkey "Switch Turn Actions" is for in Options -> Controls. I believe it's unbound by default. Pressing that key toggles the full/standard action before you commit.

At least this is how it worked in Kingmaker. You could do a standard attack (one) then still have your 30' move afterwards.

You can instruct your character to "hold" which is a function on the lower left UI next to the turn based (castle) button. It will not stop people from casting spells or firing ranged weapons but it will stop them from meleeing. First you must stop their intended action with the big x (next to the hold button.) The real time interface is super painful until you learn it and even then it is clunkier than need be. Hope this helps
