Travelling
What is the logic behind my worst stealth being forced to make the stealth checks for the party for overland movement, giving no perception checks to the party and then starting combat with the party surrounded by colossal creatures who are already in melee?

I assume this is just absurd laziness out of the devs? There's no way a person with a brain said +40 perception has a 0% chance to notice giants and minotaurs that shake the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ earth as they walk and that smell like a landfill of sulfur, until they were already in melee reach of the party?

There is no way a person with a brain said that obviously the party would use the mage with a+2 stealth to scout for overland movement, the ranger with a +35? Nah, thats ridiculous. He can't scout for everyone right? Its not like he could travel ahead and take risks for the party to leverage his immense skill to make the rest of their lives easier. There's no way an extremely talented person could advise the untrained to stop jingling bells as they walk. Etc etc etc.

There is only 1 conclusion, no one with a brain looked at overland movement for this game, along with many other critical systems for an open-world rpg. In fact, I'd guess no one with a brain has looked at this project even once. Half of the feats do less than nothing, Half of the remaining feats are ludicrously specific, half of the remaining feats are broken and about 6 of them are reasonably balanced with each other. Martial damage ludicrously outpaces all spell damage. 75% of the classes are horrible, unbalanced or entirely broken. 1st level starting storyline companions can lose access to half of their spells if you take the wrong class? Turning AI off doesnt turn off the AI, I only know this because the AI is so bad that I desperately wish my companions would just stand there doing nothing rather than the absolutely suicidal actions the AI forces onto my companions.

Cantrips? Why? who? where? What ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mage said you know what I need to spend some time learning? How to lightly singe someone's nipples with acid while being forced to be within a single move of my opponent. Yeah, that's genius, I could learn how to shoot a crossbow that can knock an armored man off a horse at 3x the range for 3x the damage, but bro the clout i get from singing people's nipples, is legendary.

I could go on and on about how terrible and illogical this game is or how 95% of the encounters are written by a 6 year old hopped up on cotton candy... Alright little billy whats going to be the encounter for the abandoned house? Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, how about 8 mimics and an alchemist, weeeeeeee? Billy, mimics are really rare creatures that are solitary hunters who rely on surprise to catch and eat their victims, its the fact that 99.9% of chests arent mimics that makes the 1 mimic so dangerous. Weeeeeeeeeeeee, Jim ♥♥♥♥ that nonsense, why do you think I get all the cotton candy? We're also going to put a broken wall that the alchemist can perfectly throw bombs through at no penalty, were going to make him 10 levels higher than the party and so that the party cant shoot or cast spells through the same opening, weeeeeee. After that we'll do a random encounter with 6 primordial hydras! This may sound like an exaggeration, but these are actual Paizo encounters, but I digress...

Is this game in Alpha? Is this a playtest of some new system? No? They're on their 5th dlc? This is an established system that stole 85% of its material from dnd? You have to be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me. This is the worst possible advertising I could imagine for the Pathfinder system. I am currently looking for a new system to play after having chewed through DnD, VtM, Numenara and Cyberpunk. I bought his game to get a feel for the Pathfinder system. I got the feel and thank god I only wasted 10$ on this pile of garbage before I went to buy any of the books. Personally I will never touch another Paizo product again, this is one of the laziest games I've ever seen and if the pnp system is anything like this, it's better off in a burning dumpster.

The person you put in the Hide Campsite slot when you camp is the person that makes the stealth check to avoid encounters when traveling on the overland map.

What a waste of a rant.

this game is a lot of things - buggy especially - but lazy? nah, nope, nuh.

I narrow it down: You don't have game knowledge and that's why you have a hard time.

I have rarely read so much stupidity in one post.

Is someone paying you for the nonsense you write here? Maybe the envious competitors (of the games you listed) who don't even remotely produce games that are as interesting as WotR?!

(Damn, I think I just fed the troll... )
I think people who are interested in tabletop Pathfinder may be interested to know that Paizo has a system reference document (SRD) that includes pretty much every single rule for Pathfinder 1e. The web version is called "Archives of Nethys" who is an offical Paizo partner for the purpose of providing access to the SRD.

So if you want to know about Pathfinder there is no need to buy any books at all, you can read all the rules for free. You will miss out on adventures and lore, but playing a cRPG kind of means you end not knowing the rules...

also Pathdinder is not stolen from D&D, Paizo reached a formal agreement with WotC, who are the people who are why D&D is back and the days of AD&D is over (long story short, Gygax stole a lot of people's ideas and did not credit them... so he was unable to use the name D&D)

D&D in its 3rd and 3.5th ed also has SRDs, and it the version that Paizo's Pathfinder 1e is based off of if you want to learn about those system.

I assume the op does not care about this, and there are plenty of reasons to hate on Paizo, but making you buy books/games to learn about Pathfinder is not one of them

Wait, really? So I can't use stealth unless waste a full day sleeping? Good job making a terrible idea sound even worse.

You can set who's in what position without actually resting. Or at least it works that way on consoles.

That said, I did not know that it did that. That's kinda neat, and more incentive to keep Arue, Wojira, and...nope those are the only two stealth characters I allow in my party...yes there's a third, but I don't like her.

As someone said above, you can set it without actually resting. It's a bit of a weird system, but considering you'll have the person with the highest stealth doing the camp hiding thing all the time anyway, it's only an issue before you rest the first time.
