Adding dex to dmg for range weapons.
I believe getting weapon finesse will do this. Are there other ways? Arue is a great ranged weapon user but her Dex modifier is twice that of her Str modifier in my current iteration of her build. Comp bows are nice but I would rather have that double modifier dmg.

i think that only works for melee weapons, you will have to relay on feats and stuff like enlarge person to increase the damage output while reducing the attack bonus, also some weapons have large property

killing pace longbow +5 adds half your mobility ranks as competence bonus to damage...

Class features, like for the rouge, and some feats add Dex to damage.

Weapon Finesse lets you use dex to calculate the attribute in a melee hit. So it goes from Str + Base Attack to Dex + BAB.

Other feats let you add like dex to damage for slashing, or weapons you can finesse. Also as others have pointed out magic can add dex to damage on some items.

You basically need Agile on a range weapon to do that. Only option is to be Trickster with Arcane 2 to loot a bow and savescum until you get the agile on it.

The only way to add dex to ranged weapon is to play trickster, spec intro knowlege arcane2 trick and roll on ranged weapon agile prefix.

Weapon Finesse is not supposed to add Dex modifier to damage. It causes you to use your Dex mod for the to-hit bonus when using a Finesse weapon (Light weapons mostly, but also Rapiers) instead of Str mod if Dex is higher.

Ranged weapons already use Dex mod for their to-hit bonus.

It used to be a thing in earlier patches where crossbows were indeed finesseable . Tho for some reason they changed it . I thought it was a good way to give crossbows some love.

Not possible in game.

you either go DEX/STR or go crossbow (ignore STR)

Wanted to do the same but an extensive search got me to the sad truth.....it is not possible

It was possible thanks to Mythic Finesse bugged...they fixed it in an old patch. No more bugs now

I remember a friend that was playing Trickster and got a bow with Agile on it and, as best as I recall, it still didn't work. I think it was because weapon finesse only applies to melee weapons and agile requires the weapon work with weapon finesse.

I tested it on mutation warrior , it worked on both bows and trowing axes. Didn`t work on x-bow(cause x-bow don`t allow to add str to dmg.)
