Mounted archery

Hey so i figure i would try some mounted combat and archery. Problem is the pet wont go into meele combat and just stands still while the mounted char shoots from range obviously this is not something i wanted as i can just park the pet myself . Only thing I can do is target the mount manually and send it to attack but the archer wont attack until it gets in meele range i believe.

I couldnt get it to work overly well either. Not only that, they kept getting attacks of oppurtunity on my character. I tried putting the pet on auto charge, but that didnt do anything either.

Yeah I was hoping to make a build around mounted archery with attack of opportunity and point blank master etc to avoid attack of opportunity on my self.

Well I suppose it could work in turn based mode, will have to try , but a pity it doesnt work properly in real time.

Edit: Tried in turn based mode and its better but lame it dont work proper in real time.

Did you try setting the pet to auto trip?
