Arcane armor training/mastery not working?

I have a sorcerer dragon disciple character and he is wearing a light armor with a 10% chance for arcane spell failure. He currently has arcane armor training and arcane armor mastery because i originally wanted to equip him with medium armor and still spell cast for a 20% reduction in arcane spell failure. So technically i should never have any spell fail on me.

However i notice that once in a blue moon while doing the umpteen thousand pre buffs i will see an spell failure on buffing which surprised me.

Has anyone also experienced this? Is there any reason behind why the spell still fails even with arcane armor training and mastery feats?

I would like to understand the underlying mechanics if it is not a bug so i can plan ahead for this next time i make a new character

No he is either dual wielding, using a scythe or going unarmed to fight using claws. I am using him to test out how i would prefer to play. was planning to make him go full dragon later to fight using natural attacks

There are some buffs that induce additional arcane failure. Maybe u buffed ur self with it?

Off the top of your head do you remember which ones? I did buff myself with a horrid ton of buffs lol

The feat does work, i've had it on a couple of characters (unless a very recent patch has broken it).

But no idea why its not working for you i'm afraid.

Did you stack corruption by resting too often outside of sanctified areas? Corruption stacks increase Arcane Spell Failure.

You can cleanse corruption by using relics at specific places.

Arcane Armor is supposed to cost a swift action (I think signifier might have a feature to make it a free action) so if you’re using a swift action for that round (sorcerous reflex? Quicken spell?) you wouldn’t be able to use another. Might that be what’s happening?

no in this game the quick action was removed in favor of it being perma passive since they also removed the arcane spell failure removal on metamagic.

Then you don't need this, you can just wear Haramaki.

That is a great idea! i will go grab one from Drezen. i think i recall one of the merchants selling one.
