I have all the buffs and stats, I can't penetrate his AC and spell resistance. Can I return after the battle for Kenabres with higher level? And don't be so contemptuous.
You can cast some dispels on her, to remove shield and mage armor, at least that's how i did it. I am pretty sure you are not allowed to return after the attack on grey keep, it closes the chapter.
As an educational method, violence has proven to be unreliable, you should at least give a proper answer if you are going through all the trouble to answer this.
I'm aware of that. I cheese. And I want to play on hard.
I've already killed her. The problem was concealment. Also, my spell DC was 17 and their saves were not very high. I failed many times in a row to penetrate their resistance though.
Well it's not exactly hard, it's just in early game you have only 1 attack, a few powerful control spells, some useful feats. Not much utility compared to the mid and late game.
Well, kind of. As Regill said, its not goodness that weak, its you (well, i dont know how it was in English.) But this does not negate the fact that hard works only while in chp1
On normal it says you take 20% less damage, but and enemies are weaker but how does it affect their stats?
Chapter 1 suffers tremendously from the Demon Problem, where everything has four billion layers of protection.
Defensive spells? Check. (That Succubus comes with mage armor and shield pre-cast on itself, even though shield only lasts a few minutes, so nobody should have it pre-cast.) Not to mention invisibility.
Then they have spell resistance, which is a janky band-aid mechanic that should never have existed.
Resistance to nearly every element? Yep.
Due to the tight level bounding, you're likely to only have one or no dispel magics available at this point, and it can easily bounce off the SR. So you can roll up with the necessary precautions, then get rolled because your Dispels rolled badly. Then the enemy crits you twice in a round because they don't roll under a 15.
I just watched this Vrock roll five attacks (including a confirm) where it needed at least a 15 to hit Seelah. Landed every attack. It's rolled at least four natural 20s this fight.
Everyone will tell you the AI doesn't cheat its rolls, but hot damn, you cannot fish for getting any status spell to stick early on. It's just a boring waiting game of slapping down basic attacks through fat resistance to everything and reloading until the AI doesn't crit down your AC 30 tanks in two rounds.
