You get thing that add damage to certain spells, kinetic blasts, increase healing/damage from cleric divine thingamajig, etc.
Subjectively, the classic "crusader" type classes. Paladins, Clerics, inquisitors, such like that. There's bits for most builds scattered about, but most gear in the base game definitely seems to favor them.

No, the classes are not equally represented. AFAIK, there are no alchemist items, for example, in the base game. It's one of the major drawback to playing an alchemist in Wrath (this differs from Kingmaker where every class got a little something).
