Owlcat posted more on New Shifter class
Just thought I'd share, here are the new archetypes for the new shifter class. I'm very excited.

Gah! Why give the twitter link that then you need to click the link to get to the actual source???!

Especially when we are on Steam forums and the actual link it to Steam!

For anyone who doesn't want to waste a click going via Twitter, here's the direct link:

Looks like a druid with extra steps.

looks more like a shapeshifting monk who uses scaling natural attacks instead of bare fists to me xD

Shifter offering new animal wildshapes with the horse, mammoth, boar, monitor lizard, wolverine, velociraptor and giant spider forms is nice. But I hoped for more exotic ones as well: giant frog, falcon (via downscaled roc model), moose, maybe giant fly as replacement for giant wasp. Owlcat could have also utilized the thylacine or trollhound from Kingmaker for this DLC. No reason to limit it to 10, really.

Archetype-wise, I really do miss Swarm Shifter, Oozemorph and Weretouched in the mix. Hopefully modders will give them a go. Fiendflesh Shifter was one I wanted for its evil alignment flexibility. But depending how much Owlcat homebrewed it, Fiendish Shifter might turn out entirely different. The manticore one sounds nice tho.

No Kitsune-specific shifter.
No Oozemancer.

Yikes.

Congrats. You both summed up the actual Shifter from the tabletop. :P

I also would accept "it looks like a worse version of Druid".

Disappointed in not seeing Oozeshifter or Weretouched. Not surprised they didn't create a Kitsune-specific one (the only Kitsune-specific archetypes in PF are the Sorc one they included, and a Rogue one).

Looks like fun. I’m interested in seeing whether some of the new forms (where appropriate) will be retroactively added to the beast shape spells and wild shape. Same goes for mechanics like Woodland stride (which they describe here) being added to the existing classes that are supposed to have them (ie Druid and Hunter).

eh woodland stride is already ingame for some classes...

I hope they bring more items and feats focused on wildshape/natural attacks with the dlc (or patch) as currently natural attack focused builds feel rather lackluster compared to weapon or spellslingers...

Is the new character the MC... huh... "father"?
I bet they will just leave it as a remote possibility.

Woodland stride is already implemented for Fey Sorcerer, but for inexplicable reasons Owlcat never to this point added it to Druid (or Hunter), the core class it was invented for. The Datamining threads on the kingmaker Reddit indicated they did indeed at least code several new polymorph-focused feats as well as some new druid spells, which is why I’m hopeful they’re taking the time to amend some of the existing classes and features.

Also, I wonder if they finally fixed the model scaling for the Dragonkind line of spells? Seeing as how they specified medium size for the Dragonblood shifter, it would be quite foolish if in practice the creature model still takes up half a room.

Do any of the versions get an Animal Companion?

No. But in tabletop your Shifter can become the mount for other characters if size requirements are met.

I haven’t played in a few patches, are you using mods or has Owlcat finally fixed it? It’s been missing since the start of Kingmaker so it’s awesome news if it’s finally resolved!

Not using any mods but can't say when they added it as i didn't really pay any attention to the skill (early on there is barely any hard terrain and later i go with the aoe buff to ignore it for the whole party anyway) just remembered seeing it when i respecced Lann in my current playthrough.
