Is it possible to start the DLC from the main campaign and use the normal party?
Sorry for the naive question, but I haven't played in over a year and I'm not familiar with the DLCs.
I ask myself the same question about the other DLC The Treasure of the Midnight Isles. Can I start the DLC from the main campaign?
Another yes. Difference here being that Treasure of the Midnight Isles is segmented throughout the main campaign. You can play the first portion in act 3, another one in act 4 and the last part in act 5. Or play all parts of the DLC in one go in act 5.
Thank you very much for the replies. :)
Are the two DLCs integrated as quests so that I'll be notified within the main campaign when they become available?
Treasure of the Midnight Isles has a main story version which you access in Acts 3, 4, and 5. (It also has a stand-alone version, but that's not related to your questions.)
The other two DLCs are NOT like that - there is no main story version of them. After completing Ashes, you can import into the main game (in Act 1), and there is a minor effect.
After completing Inevitable Excess, you can import into the main story for some effects (nothing major, but more significant than Ashes). You can also import your main story character into Inevitable Excess, but only main characters that have completed the game.
Ok, thanks for the information. In this case I will only play the Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC, everything else seems to make not much sense.
