Level 12 against Ancient blighted treant (Wintersun again)?
At level 10 i was told level 11 will be ok for spirits at Wintersun. Now i face a big, old, ill tree which seems to be immortal. Best result was reducing him for round about 50 points which means he is still completely healthy. Does he has any weak points? I try now for the last 2,5 hrs without any success.

The torches are in Drezen. But the damage is somehow ridicolous. How much is it? 5 or 6? And the Treeant has 350hp in total and can heal himself too.

The key is... to use a kineticist. When faced with difficult enemies in this game, kineticist is almost always the answer. IIRC, these trees also have some Spell Resistance, but I believe it is (relatively) lower than their standard AC, meaning that you SHOULD have an easier time with spells and spell-like abilities than normal attacks.

Granted, your spells will do almost no damage, because spells are surprisingly weak in this game until you get to 7th level slots.. but kinetic blasts should be doing ~3 or 4 times more damage by lvl 10 or 11.

I am at level 12. A kineticist is rare. I have one as a mercenary backup but i dont know if i leveled her fine. Btw i play on normal level. That is why i think devs exagerate with enemies like this one. I even looked for cheats since i am completely desperated meanwhile.

Yeah but before all died not more than 50 and he has 350hp.

The problem is that this treeant is ridicolously protected against magic spells. Fireballs usually dont do any harm to but to my allies. Bows are useless since arrows dont hit them and if you are too near he trample you easily to death. Frankly speaking i want a cheat. Now i am sick and tired. In total i wasted more than 4 hours with this op creature and that is no fun at all. And the level normal! My group is level 12.
And on top the 4 Babaus attack me after one or two rounds too,

Now in my best fight the treeant is at -1090hp and guess what happened?

-3000hp and the treeant is not dead.

Finally he died after 40 rounds and more than -4000(!)hp

They cut the xp award in half at some point.

As for the negative hp and not dead, coup de grace should work. I haven't even noticed fort saves to resist in quite awhile. Alternatively, some fire damage - torches and alchemist fire noted previously do not have spell resistance checks.

Overall, not all encounters have to be completed. This one is optional, but if you're the type that likes to "do everything" (I am and presumably most are), then a big part of the game is to create a party that can handle a wide variety of challenges.

What is "coup de grace"? I play it in german.

I managed to get the tree to "fall down" and when I realized it had regeneration, had Ember nuke it with Hellfire Ray. Not sure when you get that from the top of my head but I only killed the Treant on my return trip to Wintersun, not when I first got there.

Beat the tree down. Once he is down, have seelah swap to the torch. It will instant end him. You are making this more difficult then it needed to be.

It's an ability that everything has - at least, everything that has melee attacks. In the Abilities tab, the icon has a red background. Same tab that has actions like charge.

As a full round action (so, if playing turn-based, need to start your turn next to it), you can use that ability to any helpless opponent (held or unconscious). It's an automatic crit plus a fort save to avoid death regardless of hit points.

Presently however, it seems like Owlcat got rid of the fort save (probably a bug, but who knows). Instead, it's auto crit and auto death.

Not to spoil anything, but figuring out how to use the coup de grace action might help in Blackwater.

I was never able to get torches to work against these things. Also, most of Ember's fire spells just did normal damage.

I know my kineticist was the primary source of damage, but I had to have Ember cast Hellfire Ray (my highest level spell at that point) to actually put it down. Other fire spells did not work.

Ive probably killed that treant over a hundred times, and I have used Seelah's torch around 90 of them. When the tree goes into negative hp, he falls to the ground. I just have seelah swap to her torch when that happens, bam dead. I dont see the confusion here.

You can Sarenrae, have Ember blast him to death, buff AB on your martial to high heaven.
For Sarenrae, lets just say finish the hand axe dude first then come here.
For Ember, use maximize rod and keep throw Flaming Arc smth at him.
As for AB... Well.. If you have Sosiel going domain stuff, have someone cast touch of Law, use True Strike scroll. It's not that hard to get pass 47 AC. The hard part is the bloody tree stampede. His CMB is god forbid high.

Fort Save is still there. If the creature succeeds it, it'll just take the auto-crit but not instant death. I don't think fallen regenerating creatures can succeed it tho so it just auto kills them.
