-A few people aren't strictly heterosexual: Yes, they went that far in wokeness, can you imagine it?
-Black people not being de facto slaves: have they really no respect for the racists out there that might be triggered by such provocative woke propaganda?
-Women doing stuff outside of kitchens; this is really going too far, it's clearly a brainwashing attempt to break the spirit of strong and manly gamer men and prepare them mentally to be shipped to the ♥♥♥ mines on Mars.
In other words: run, run fast and don't look back!
Saludos desde Chile.
The manner that the question is asked indicates a bias and people are reacting to that.
Yeah right, the issue is clearly us who don't tolerate intolerance.
lgbt is mainstream, and it isnt woke, they arent pandering to anyone. and none of the charecters get a soap box about real life social issues.
except ember, but if you play lawful evil you can just let her burn at the stake like the witch she is
But there are also other ideas. Like that strong woman paladin going ptsd after getting kidnapped, one of the ways to get her straight is to punch her in the face and knocking her down to remind her of the situation.
That's not what I would consider woke material.
using soldiers as fodder to spread a disease as a siege tactic, that now very friendly too.
There are a lot of extremes in the game, evil is real evil and there a good amount of logical and illogical choices to make.
Everything fits into the lore, it's cohesive for the most part, they don't force stuff in your face. If you want to see it it's there, if you don't, there are other options.
But the direct answer is that it is in there, but it isn't heavy-handed at all. There are two lesbian NPCs you will definitely meet. Other than "we're married to each other", the game doesn't make a bigger deal about it than that.
There is one dedicated gay companion, but again, that isn't "in your face" at all unless you try to romance him as a male character. There is one each dedicated heterosexual male and female character. Most of the romanceable companions go either way, but again, you wouldn't ever know that unless you tried.
tl;dr
If you freak out and shut down at any mention of homosexuality, yes, it's in there.
While some non-straight stuff does exist, it's not a major focus of the game. It's never "in your face" or forced on you as a moral point or anything. It's just mentioned in passing.
As for LGBTQ, I didnt really find any issue in this department. While there are cases of it, It didnt feel intrusive, or that there was an agenda here. The few cases of it felt pretty smooth and natural.
There is no agenda over pronouns. That's the paizo description system (which is more than 10 years old). Classes are described by the representation of their iconic character. So fighter is always male, paladin always female, wizard is male, sorcerer is female etc. And I'm pretty sure I saw similar things in decades old pnp books, so it's not a new political thing, that's just a style.
About characters, I don't feel that was the case. I mean minagho is pretty miserable as a female and some chars like regill are just keeping their cool whatever the situation, and most female do suffer the consequences of their actions if you make it happen. It's a lot more about the choices you make (I did some playthoughs that wouldn't be in any feminist agenda, if there was one, those choices wouldn't be in the game).
I play in french and all the backgrounds and items are all male, whatever your gender. So is there really an agenda ? Or does the company has a specific agenda depending on the country ?
Also, it's the description of an action in a video game. Why does it matter?
