A just got to blightmaw and need help

I play this game on casual and I have party death turned off cause i'm a wimp and just want to have fun but I literally can't defeat the blightmaw and its honestly just ruining the game for me. How do I kill him or even more importantly do I need to kill him to complete the dresden siege?

Brightmaw is an optional encounter, so it's not necessary to kill him to capture Drezen. I'll note that Brightmaw can't damage Spirit Paladins, if wait until after you hang the Sword of Valor, and take the Angel mythic path. You can summon them at the top of the nearby stairs to stop him, and then cast Grease (which the Spirit Paladins are immune to), and wait till he fails his saving throw. Then everyone can move up and attack him while he's prone.

If you don't want to do Blightmaw, simply kill off the 12 or so Cultists used to summon the Demon, then you'll only have to fight Corussina afterwards.

Easiest done in TBM with heavy AOE damage.

On my previous playthroughs I focused on killing the cultists, so Brightmaw was never successfully summoned. This time I wanted to try taking on Brightmaw himself. Note that Chorussina is easier to defeat if you kill off as many cultists as possible before they get a chance to perform their Dark Sacrifice (I think each Dark Sacrifice adds to her AC).

If you're playing on casual grease should do the trick. You can cast several near the entrance of the room (he'll have to save for each one you cast) before he spawns and just wait for him to charge into it. Selective grease makes it easier for your party to kill him once he's down.
