The Dragon's Fate for one, I showed him the scale but I have a claw now too.
The Dragon Hunt
(* captured might not be correct - I don't remember the exact circumstances)
Yep I'm doing it now thanks.
The mandragoras were much harder
Cold iron weapons are easy. Good aligned weapons are accessible through Bless Weapon and Align Weapon. Definitely less convenient than having an artifact automatically bestow those qualities, but nevertheless, it's still optional.
Exception the flail "Demon's Terror" a +2 non cold iron flail
I think maybe they forgot to add cold iron to it. It doesn't have bane or anything. Just an increased attack roll on the first attack, and positive energy damage which doesn't damage demons I don't think?
I found that downstairs at the dragon lair
The lower portion of the tower is 100% optional just like the lower portion of the Lost Chapel. Optional doesn't mean it should be ignored, but it's common to find difficulty spikes after completing required portions of maps.
Ya I find it funny the need for some, like they need to finish everything on a map when they get to it. I admit I have to check myself sometimes when I contentiously smash up against a brick wall. Part of the game is exploring, finding the limits, coming back when you are able to cross those. Like the undead pit mage you can find late in act 2. Unless you are prepared for him, there is 0 reason in trying to force out a W, just leave and come back when you are high level or have some diff tools.
Wondering because I'm trying to knock out all the quests before I do that.
Spoilers, just in case someone else doesn't want to know:
After doing the Ivory Labyrinth and meeting the Hand of the Inheritor, showing him the key you get from Areelus lab will start a 30 day countdown, at the end of which the queen arrives. Talking to her to start the attack on the Midnight Fane is what starts the end of the chapter. She will wait around until you are ready to do start the attack.
I will add to this there is a quest you can not do until you are leaving the place so you can't complete all the (!)act 3 quests before you go.
