Camella's Rapier not using Dexterity
I've tried unequipping and re-equipping it, but it still doesn't use her Dex mod for damage, only doing 1d6 instead of 1d6+4.

Do you have Mythic Weapon Finesse? That gives dex to damage.

Another alternative is Fencing Grace, although that's strictly inferior to Mythic Weapon Finesse (doesn't work when dual-wielding).

Her rapier doesn't give dexterity to damage unless you learn specific feats that do that. You do get dexterity to attack rolls (which is accuracy, not the same as damage) because she has finesse training and because rapiers are finesse weapons.

Ok. That's something I didn't realise was a thing in Pathfinder. I just assumed it was like D&D 5e.

Fencing Grace feat allows you to use DEX for weapon. You only need DEX 13, Weapon Focus and Weapon FInesse, making this an easy pick for Cam.

Rogues can get get this feature at level 3 from Finesse Training special trait.

Aldori Sworlord get this at level 1 from Deft strike, but that would mean waiting at least to character level 6 to get there. Aldori Defenders of course can manage until then, but rogues aiming for Aldori Swordloard path probably pick Finesse Training for either Rapier or Dueling Sword long before that.

Just take weapon focus rapier then fencing grace rapier - done. Camella should now use a buckler.

Alright. Thanks everyone!

I'm probably not going to multiclass for my first playthrough. Kingmaker didn't have Shaman, so I want to do a full run with Shaman.

Also, any tips for a crusader cleric with the destruction domain? I had a pretty strong cleric frontliner in kingmaker with the destruction domain. I saw the crusader option and liked the idea of making the build better.

It is an interesting class, though a bit shy with skill points. Remember Battle Master hex with Cam. It grants few free extra feats that can make her - or any other similar shaman - quote a lot more effective later on.

Thanks for the tip!

Fencing Grace in addition to what was said needs buckler or free hand.
This is good for Cam unless you want her to use better shield, or dual-wield.
Drake Nov 29, 2022 @ 3:26pm
buckler works ? I thought you needed the second hand completely free.

Ooh, I’ve been meaning to ask the forum about this! Does fencing grace and other free hand feats/class abilities work with buckler like in PnP?

I reread the feats. In pnp the hand must be free. But in game they allowed the buckler for fencing grace. Slashing grace however still needs a free hand.

In pnp, a buckler is strapped to the forearm and allows your hand to be free.
