A male companion with arguably the worst class in the pnp rpg? Come on Owlcat. It would be nice to have a female li that isn't a cannibal serial killer, ANOTHER cannibal serial killer, or a former killer.
And absolutely nobody wanted Through the Ashes part 2.
DLC 1 - do not care, do not plan to use shifter and new companion, only will be using him if it he is interesting and/or well written, otherwise not worth it.
DLC 2 - Definitive buy. Even if I will not buy rest of season pass, this is sure way to go with DLCs.
DLC 3 - "ME3 Citadel-like" DLC for Wrath, I think there will be something before festival will truly get going. I have positive expectation, but fear it will be way too short, like one minute or two dialoge/scene for each companion.
DLC#5 with the continuation of Through the Ashes can be interesting. The trailer spoke of a new dungeon being added to the main campaign. And fighting a new demon lord could be worth it. Plus I have a soft spot for under powered commoners.
The Festival of DLC#6 was an... unique choice, to say the least. It sounds like it will take place in a rebuild Kenabres. I guess more companion interaction may appeal to some players... but... I have to seriously question what a Lich or Swarm would do in there. Going on that "special date" with undead Staunton? Unwind from the war by snacking on Kenabres' citizens? At least it sounds like more is going on than said festival with new encounters and secrets. But, meh..
DLC 2: I still havent played through the ashes yet, I do plan to and Im sure I wont mind another dlc around it. It will allow me more time with my character from that dlc.
DLC 3: I really dont know..... I dont quite understand this one. Is it gonna be a real short dlc? They mentioned a mystery I think right? Maybe Im just imagining it. If they did mention a mystery then it could unfold as a decent dlc with a multi hour sidequest I guess. This is certainly the least exciting sounding one for me, but I could be surprised.
I actually enjoyed through the ashes more than the main campaign... but the ending wasn't that promising on how it will go on... though i'm wondering in which way it changes depending on if your main party returned to the tavern and left the gnome alone or went on with him.
Not sure what i should make out of an festival DLC... something like the NWN2 tutorial area with minigames? A hangout for more partymember bonding like ME Citadel? Or being dragged into an area of the abyss/hell where some trickster reigns and forces your party to go through their trials/become their plaything....
2) The main appeal of Ashes to me is just having a campaign where I have higher party customization. That it links into the main campaign is a bonus.
3) My impression with the festival is that there is likely going to be a twist. "Bring your weapon!" and all that.
DLC 4 - Cool to have a new companion, not sure if I really care about shifter, but if this cheap maybe I'd buy standalone.
DLC 5 - I wasn't interested in Through the Ashes, but maybe this would be cool with an extension. I'm not really sure. I liked Varnhold's Lot alright but only bought it on sale and only played it once, finding it okay but pretty shallow and not worth the original price tag.
DLC 6 - Hard pass. Act 5 is an absolute mess of disjointed and poorly paced/balanced parts and at this point in the game I'm just racing to get it over with. I'd pay to see Owlcat go through and fix things like the Threshold battle and if they made the festival part of the mustering for the final push or something, I'd give it a look. What we don't need is hours more of shallow side quests running around collecting +4 scimitars from mythic Mariliths.
B) Why should Regil not be a Hellknight?
C) Just buy mercs.
Hell, don't give us DLCs, give us an expansion pack. Make for pathfinder what mask of the betrayer was for neverwinter nights. I am ML10 and can't enjoy it ffs.
