I just finisshed CH4 and yeah, really overwhelming. But I think I did lot of side quests too. Just do main ones as the @Baldurs_Gate_2 says and skip fast.
You can also climb to the upper levels with mobility and athletics check.
I get it's the abyss but the atmosphere was genuinely unpleasant, and that's coming from someone who enjoys evil playthroughs.
That said I do enjoy Chapter 4 overall. Rotating the camera to modify the geography as though the camera itself were a lock-pick can get annoying while back tracking tho.
Yes atmosphere of abyss was great but that damn camera angles... It was annoying and hard to find my way. Unfortunately Daeran died on my walkthrough but I was wondering what'll happen to him.
