What happens if you skip Blackwater?
This is the second most annoying quest/area in the game to me. And no, it has nothing to do with the regeneration or difficulty, I just think it drags on for too long.

Anyway, what are the consequences if you just don't do it, besides missing out on loot?

None, it's a completely optional side adventure. Just like the Treants puzzle area next to it.

Out of curiosity, what's your most annoying quest/area? Nenio's quest area?

Thank you, and yes. The last one, that is. I like puzzles a lot, but not so much when I have to traverse a massive area just to get from one puzzle to the next, for no good reason.

The only consequence of not doing Blackwater (beside loot) is not getting augmented "cyborg" units for the crusade. Needless to say that only applies if you keep the Machine running.

Yeah, no. That's yet another problem with the quest: computers and machines in a fantasy setting. This isn't Steampunk.

So, Shelters STILL aren't working? I just rested at a fort that has one and corruption increased.

Numeria is full of science fantasy vibes. What with its robots, sentient demigod AI spaceships and energy weapons vs. barbarian hordes. Best of all? it's right next to the Worldwound. Hell yeah! And if you prefer steampunk there's always the Clockwork Cathedral in Absalom. Golarion has something for every taste imaginable.

Particularly when you have to solve a puzzle to activate the other puzzle...

That part doesn't bother me so much. It's no different from a puzzle game that requires you to complete one level before moving on to the next. The problem is doing nothing for up to several minutes because you missed a stone or forgot to pick it up once you were done with it (likely because you didn't even know you'd need it).

Personally, they should have gone for something less futuristic for the interior of the area. You can introduce robots in the fantasy, fine (in line with the Technic League) but not dump straight 23rd century technology in a fantasy world. Blackwater is my least favorite area in the whole game. Sadly.

What happens when you skip blackwater? well for a lot of poeple you have a more enjoyable experience. So many threads exist trashing the place as overtuned.

Also I am unsure what I hate more, Three shrine quest, or nenios quest.

For me there's cRPG mood and puzzle game mood, and the 2 don't mix well. I'd like my cRPGs to stick to simple puzzles and stay as far away from math as possible. :D

Shrine of the Three for sure in my case. At least Enigma has some of the most refreshing atmospheres in the game. And outstanding music to go with it. The three shrines of migraine on the other hand... nothing but physical pain.

I personally don't mind the hard puzzles (though the slab ones could use some QoL improvements). What I do mind is constantly having to switch between puzzle and combat, having to traverse an enormous area to get to the next puzzle, and having to backtrack because I missed something the game doesn't even tell you will be needed for other puzzles.

And this is the setting and backstory that links to Starfinder I guess.
