Balor Ravager and Khorramzadeh - Obsene difficulty spike at the threshold
Hi there, I suppose someone might help me, I took the demon mythic path with a knife master, I was doing extremely fine until I got to the threshold.

I am having to fight multiple Balor Ravagers and they just wreck my fighter, their whip attack does multiples attacks and obsene damage, debuff does not seem to work, I killed 2 mobs that had Balor Ravagers with them using ice prison but inmobilization is not 100% guaranteed, I also tried to re-train my main char so I could use the trip ability in the hopes that i could knock it out by rushing at him with haste on the start of the fight, but still i have not been able to come up with an efficient strategy against them.

Party composition ( LVL: 19 )

Knife Master ( +1 level demon hunter ) - demon mythic
Palladin - Mercenary
Camellia - Vanilla build ( skills were chosen by the PC )
Wenduag - Vanilla build ( skills were chosen by the PC )
Ember - Vanilla build ( skills were chosen by the PC )
Nenio - Vanilla build ( skills were chosen by the PC )

So far the only strategy I have to succesfully defeat them is that nenio can enclose him in a ice prison so they are easy prey to my main char, Mark of Justice helps but does not prevent the Balor from a 1 or 2 hit kills with their multiple attacks whip.

But the elephant in the room is a Boss Balor called Khorramzadeh, that does an insane amount of damage and throws a chain lighting skill that does an insane amount of damage and kills most of my casters.

So far had no problems with most mobs and bosses but this one left me without a viable strategy, perhaps having used the Vanilla builds for the companios left me handicapped for this last fight.

Do you have access to Resist (Element) Communal and Protection from (Element) Communal on Nenio? Balor weapons typically deal fire damage, and lightning spells do lightning damage. That will stop some of the pain.

Throw summons between you and the Balors. They will absorb attacks. They will also die, but they'll absorb attacks and then die.

Yes I have tried with protection from elements during the Khorramzadeh fight but the lighting still wrecks my casters, and then my fighters dont stand much of a chance either. T.T

It's too bad that you don't have some whoa can cast Mass Heal. For the fight against Khorramzadeh, I moved Daeren and Sosiel back at the end of their turns, so they wouldn't get destroyed by the lightning.

I generally followed cPG Bro's build guides (substituting in some Trickster special critical feats. I can attest to the fact that the builds are suitable for Unfair. By this point your melee types should all have Last Stand.

I agree that Threshold features a massive difficulty spike.

Idk what it picks for you with auto select options but hopefully nenio has phantasmal killer / weird / hellfire ray.

Hellfire ray with ember too.

With quicken rods you can cast twice in a round.

Hopefully ember or cam has fortune / protective luck / cackle, you can spam cackle to extend their small initial duration.

**also all my melee have last stand mythic feat as their first one. This is upto 12 seconds of tanking any amount of damage, which can be used on the next melee aswell when the first one falls or dies.

Kill them at range with bows and rays/bombs. Have characters in party with good Reflex saves and give them rings of evasion so they take no damage from AoEs that are Reflex based (which is most AoEs). Cast displacement/blink/ on party members that need to go into melee and have group mind blank on the party so their true seeing doesn't ignore the effect. Stoneskin is useless. Having Holy Aura up helps a bit as well. Protection from Fire and Electricity should help absorb that damage as well.

Yeah. Last Stand is very useful so your party doesn't just get dropped and keep fighting.

By the time you reach the final battle with Areelu, you want Last Stand on EVERYONE.
