Fun class/path to go Gold Dragon with?
I've done Monk Angel, Rogue Trickster and Slayer Azata now and want to do a Gold Dragon next, but I'm not sure what to go for in terms of class and which path to take until I get back from the Abyss.

Any suggestions? I'm not overly concerned with optimization, I'd just like something that won't embarrass me too badly on Daring...

Gold Dragon does not continue any of the previous paths that you've taken. So it doesn't matter all that much.
It's very dissapointing to be honest. You get some stats, a dragon form, a breath weapon and a bigger hd for your spells, which from what I know, was bugged at least to some degree.
It's not a very complex path. Go with whatever, since you'll be equally dissapointed no matter what you choose, lol. (honestly don't go GD)

I do not advise playing Gold Dragon if you are not using the Path of Bling mod. If you do not mod, there is 0 reason to play GD.

Monk makes the most sense - fun/story wise

Anything that can eventually cast Form of the Dragon 3 does everything GD does, you only miss out on fairly minor things (and ~300 HP). Basically anything that doesn't focus on a weapon works well enough for it, so things like Fighter and Magus are out. Otherwise, whatever. Have fun.

Gold Dragon is a pretty bland mythic class overall but there are two obvious things to consider:

1) Gold Dragon fixes your BAB at 25 and boosts magical dice rolls to D10 (So a 1/2 BAB class will immediately have >= Lv 20 Fighter BAB and improved blasting)

2) Gold Dragon fixing your stats to 18 minimum is good for MAD classes. (Esp those that give INT / WIS / CHA modifiers to martial stats)

That said...

#1 is mitigated since you don't get a mythic spell book at all. WTF? At least let us maintain the prior spell book like Legend... Furthermore improving caster level and DC bypass is typically more powerful than increasing to D10s.

#2 MAD classes tend to be martial hybrids that get minimal benefit from fixed 25 BAB. If you don't want an AWFUL chapter 1-4 then you will likely already have most of your stat needs met. Especially as by the time you get to Gold Dragon >18 through buffs is expected.

The best way to make a Gold Dragon IMO is to actually be a Trickster -> Gold Dragon. And really that is basically due to Trickster feats carrying over and just being that good.

Addendum: I will say that the overt defensive immunities are pretty nice tho. Barring Baphomet you should have buffs on that simulate those immunities anyways but still...

Dragonheir Scion, ofc. Or Scaled Fist. For casters: Sorcerer.

A cool idea: Reformed Fiend.

(with that said, yes, GD does need some buffs, but that's why Toybox exists!)
