Like hungry pit is pretty low tier, bad dc
Like hungry pit can suck in your own party
Like hungry pit doesnt do any real damage
Like hungry pit doesnt affect a lot of enemies
Like hungry pit has different skill checks to get out of
Now if your reffering to the ultimate spell the pit of relaxation, man that spell......
can cause you to reload your game if you get perma stuck in it.
2. Conjuration is a school that gets precisely zero school specific spell DC buffs from items.
3. Pit spells in general are a horrible form disabling spells, because they do not allow you to directly attack the disabled target with your weapons and other spells.
4. The Athletics/Mobility check needed to climb out of the pit is non-scaling meaning that even with infinite spell DC the enemy will have no trouble escaping given good Athletics/Mobility skill values.
Let's take the easiest example: you are a Transmuter Wizard with very high Transmutation spell DCs. You can choose between Haste and Slow for your Level 3 spell. What are you going to choose: a spell that gives your entire party +1 attack at their maximum BAB or a spell that debuffs the enemy party and sets their number of attacks to 1 (which can result in the loss of 3+ attacks) and prevents them from executing full round actions?
And this is just Slow which isn't even the top tier candidate for an offensive Level 3 spell.
Haste to everyone
x1 crit multiplier
+8 ab (I think, I forget)
+5 AC
Another claw attack
+ 7 damage reduction/-
Im sure im forgetting more, so I'll leave this post on edit
So what you're trying to say is that Haste is useless, because you can get it permanently for "free" as a level 20 Skald? You still need to level to 20 and some people (me included) don't use Skalds (at least not base ones).
