Question regarding level 0 spell slots wizard
Hi, i have a question regarding level 0 spell spell slots for wizard. Hope you can help me.

I know that in wotr all level 0 spells count as cantrips.
This means you don‘t need spell slots to prepare them and you can cast them as often you want.

But in the official rules (at least those which i have seen like www.d20pfsrd.com) there is an entry at the table „spell per day“ progression for level 0 spells starting with „3“.

Why is there an entry when i don‘t need spell slots for level 0/cantrips? Or does level 0 spells exist which are not cantrips?
Is the game adapting the core rules here?

Im a little bit confused☺️

Thx for any help.

i could be wrong, not really using many cantrips myself, but in pnp wizards have to prepare the cantrips they want to use like any other spell

while in the crpg they don't, because there are no 0 level spell slots implemented

I'm pretty sure you have to prepare cantrips in NWN.

Yes in pnp, wizards have to choose which cantrip they can cast for the day, they don't have them all. They can still cast them anytime they want though.
owlcat just decided to add a selection of cantrip, and since there are not a lot they gave them all to the players.

Ah ok…as i thought…thx!
One additional question:

Pnp rules says „spells per days“:

So i can only cast spells one time within 24 hours (my interpretion)

In game i rest for 8 hours and get my spells back.

Is this also just a game-decision from owlcat?

you can rest once every 24 hour, if you try to rest two times in a row the first will take 8 and the second 16 hours to finish or something like that, it also depends on the time of the day you rest but i think you get the idea

Ok but regarding the rules it says you get the spells one time per day.

Example:

After 8 hours on day A
After 16 hours on dayA
After another 8 hours on day B

Even when you say ok 24:00 count for day B already you get it 2 times:

After 8 hours on day A
After 16 hours on day B
After another 8 hours on day B

I know it‘s detailed but i have currently a little bit of time☺️

i think it should be 24 hours for day b if you try to rest three times in a row, but currently can't check ingame

Yeah you can only rest once a day, if you try to rest the second time, the game will skip a day (you'll see something like 1d 6h).
Ahh ok thx…have you studied the runes☺️You should write a bachelor degree about it or sth☺️

In Pathfinder, cantrips do not use spell slots.
In 3.5 D&D cantrips do use spell slots.

When looking at an SRD, make sure you're using the right one.

As to the number of available cantrips, there are so few, Owlcat just went with all of them. Most aren't terribly useful.

His link is to the Pathfinder 1E SRD, which this game is based on. For prepared casters, cantrips do take spell slots in 1E tabletop, but the spell isn't consumed when cast. So a 1st-level wizard could prep Acid Splash, Detect Magic, and Prestidigitation in her three slots and cast them as many times as she likes that day, but she couldn't cast Ray of Frost on that same day because she hadn't prepared it.
