Game chapters and Midnight Isles DLC
Act 1: Kenabres
Act 2: The March and Siege of Drezen
Act 3: One Year as the Knight Commander of Drezen
Act 4: The Abyss
Act 5: Endgame

OR

Prologue: Kenabres
Act 1: The March and Siege of Drezen
Act 2: One Year as the Knight Commander of Drezen
Act 3: The Abyss
Act 4: Endgame

Which one is correct?

I'm asking because Owlcat have officially stated that the new DLC can be accessed in "chapter 3", but what is chapter 3 exactly?

If I want to play the main campaign dungeon of the DLC on release, where do I stop playing:
1. Before I enter the Midnight Fane?
2. Before I step into the Abyss?
3. Or before I embark for Colyphir?

You can start DLC 3 from Chapter 3 and your fisrt expidition would be in the Chapter 3, your second expidition would be in the Chapter 4 and your third expidition would be in the Chapter 5. But you can start in the Chapter 4 or 5, and play more expidition at one time.

I can't say particular time to make a save and stop playing, because I haven't tested DLC in the campaign (I was playing just roquelike part), bur as far as I know it is hard to miss.

Or, plot twist, It can be accessed in chapter 3 by a demon mythic path.

Doubt they'd make early access demon exclusive.

Chapter 3 is from the first prep talk with Irabeth in liberated Drezen to the very end of Midnight Fane. They use the words "act" and "chapter"interchangeable pretty often.

Still, you sure they said 3? Doesn't make much sense, since only Demon has access to the Abyss at that point. And even then only limited and without party. It's more likely they meant 4 when we are actually inside the Midnight Isles and have access to the required harbour and its flying boats.

its probably works like in kingmaker, you get a new location on the overland map to enter the dungeon and stages unlock as the story progresses

Here's what the Owlcat community liaison said on ribbit: "The Treasure of the Midnight Isles DLC can be played in 2 ways: one as the Commander, starting at chapter 3, and the other is as a standalone rogue-like adventure. Which one do you plan to experience first?"

And yes, I don't think it makes sense either. Did he make a mistake? Or will the player be introduced to the abyss portion of the game before chapter 4 now?

So the dungeon will be connected to both Golarion and the abyss? Huh, that might work.

An overland location in the Worldwound to enter a dungeon inside the Abyss on a lone isle that requires boarding a specific cursed ghost ship on Alushinyrra's docks for the sea voyage? I mean, if we had such a "shortcut" we wouldn't need a ship in the first place, right?

if it has to get as straight forward as possible, you probably just stumble upon an portal on golarion leading into the midnight island where the dungeon is located and when you are in the abyss in chapter 4 you can reach that location with just asking a ship guy

that way you can access the dungeon from chapter three till five

Maybe Necessary will see this thread and we'll get this clarified.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thanks a lot, so it follows the formula from Kingmaker.

Think I'll just start from chapter 4 then.
