How do I light grease? Through the ashes?
I've dropped a container of grease and thus far I've tried to use an everburning torch and a scorching ray spell, along with burning hands. None of them have lit the grease. What am I doing wrong?

Expecting the game to make sense.

Try Alchemist's fire.

Alchemist fire works. I don't think it ignites immediately, though. Playing turn based, it vaguely remember the grease ignite a couple of characters after the one that made the alchemist fire attack. In real time, maybe 2 seconds or so??

Those should actually all work. I had targeting problems myself and found I had to target the left portion of the dumped grease (not the edge) to get it to work. Sometimes the start of combat would cancel whatever spell/scroll I was using too. So using a fire spell after combat starts is also recommended.

Pretty much any fire spell that can target the ground or doesn't require targeting an enemy will work including the scroll found in a barrel or chest nearby (if you're in the caves).

Ok. I think it worked one time and allowed me to...kill myself. Also, I'll try alchemist's fire if I have to use it in the future. Boy, they weren't joking about your crew being nothing special in through the ashes, even the oil doesn't want to help out my nobodies!
