Regarding Mythic Paths and alignments

I did some research into this after the Hand of the Inheritor basically told me to become Lawful Good, but the information I found is relatively old, so I want to make sure.

Is it still the case that you can be adjacent to the "optimal" alignment, meaning I can be LN or NG? Or did they remove that altogether and I can continue being CG?

You still need to be one step within the "canon" alignment of said path. Same for Angel not allowing Chaotic Good.

I am now Neutral Good, but the Hand still says "[my] path toward the light is not yet complete".

This is funny, because in the tabletop, it didn't matter what alignment the angels were as long as they were good, while gold dragons were definitely lawful good. Owlcat got them mixed up.

Yes, it's hilarious that the game presents you with options you can't ACTUALLY fully use due to your alignment and neglects to mention it. Hell, the game literally tells you "there are no wrong choices". I figured the options I had to choose from would work with my alignment.
