Is there a mod that changes Finnean away from Brilliant Energy?
If he's useless against a significant portion of the enemies i'm fighting- constructs and undead, for example, t hen I see no reason to keep him as a weapon at all. If there is any mod that c hanges his type so that he's *not* brilliant energy, i'd prefer that.

Try Finnean Tweaks with it you can configure his damage type to whatever you want from him.

Is there anything that doesn't change the way he progresses? o.O I just wanted to get rid of brilliant energy, but keep everything else about him the same

Brilliant energy is one of the best weapon enchantments, why would you want to get rid of it?
And in act 3+ (whire finnean geats his BE property) there is barely any undead or constructs.

With the exception of Enigma. Still. you can always carry a backup weapon.

*Because* it's useless against non-living enemies. I would never use it in tabletop- i'd sell a brilliant energy weapon in order to buy an objectively better weapon that actually works on them.

I have 8 Str- it's not like I can carry a bunch of extra weapons. It's a dex build.

Brilliant energy objectively better, just if you encounter non-living enemies change weapon or use some magic. I used Instrument of Freedom in such situations (and was so happy that I needed to adapt and use different abilities I never would use otherwise)

And if you must change his damage type Finnien Tweaks is the only option personally I enjoy it more because it makes him actually a strong weapon to use at any point in the game
i dont know why people hate on brillant energy so much, 80% of the enemies you fight are not undead or constructs. and even at that you have the rest of your party or alt weapons.

And?
In act 3+ you meet 95% living enemies, about 5% undead.
Against liviing enemies BE weapon can give you an equivalent of up to 12 AB bonus, which is enormous.
And for 5% undead you can always use a spare weapon.

Imagine wanting to get rid of the best weapon trait just because 5% of enemies are immune to it.

You don't need a bunch, you only need 2.
And you don't have to carry it on your character, having it in inventory is enough to swap it once in a blue moon.
