No Vrock loot

Just killed off the Vrock demon for a second time in the market place, the first time i didnt get the +2 mirthal heavy shield, so i reloaded and tried again, still no shield loot, this a bug?

It never dropped from the vrock but from the crusader corpses nearby. Sometimes the crusader bodies are missing and you cannot get the shield. I'm not exactly sure what triggers the bodies.

the bodies can fall under the ground
try existing the map and check the loot screen that appears before you exit

or perhaps the crusaders already died before that if you kited other enemies into them and you already collected their loot

yea, i took him out today and the shield is missing.

You should be able to loot from the crusaders. If the bodies aren't there exit the map and check the loot screen to see if it's there. The Vrock himself doesn't drop any loot.

The bodies of the crusaders dont have any loot.

If the vrock killed the crusaders while you were far and exited the area before facing it, you might have just looted it already without noticing with the exit loot screen.
Happened to me in another area once, tried to loot for something when it was already in my inventory.

this happened to me. i just killed the vrock and there's no dead crusaders anywhere on the map.
i read other posts of this happening.
someone claiming it was patched out, but others claiming you just have to reload.
I think i would know if I "accidentally" picked up a +2 mithral shield. especially because i knew about it and was keeping an eye for it.

only thing i think might have happened is when i was near that graveyard, there were 3 crusaders and i think it was the vrock that appeared and it killed them, but they didn't have any loot, so i didn't put 2 and 2 together that those were the ones that were "supposed" to have the loot and that they were bugged and that i had to reload the save until they drop it and so i just kept going and saved the game and now i don't want to lose 7 hours of progress to get this item

Those 3 are killed by a nabasu demon, not a vrock. You can kill that particular demon by going thorough with the tavern defense, then returning to the marketplace afterword. The nabasu will be where the necromancer was previously.

okay, so then , where are these "dead crusaders" that the vrock allegedly killed?
i looked all over the place.
i mean, there's the guys huluru and his men, next to the chasm just off to the side of where the vrock was, but i "convinced" him to leave.


edit : niw i'm thinking what might have happened is a reddit post says i was supposed to go buold the bridge across the middle and go across it and it triggers the crusaders to spawn, fighting some vermin and because i went into the house first and summoned the vrock, those guys never spawned in and the vrock wasn't abke to murder them because they never spawned in.
so i guess i missed it on this playthrough. i don't wannt go back 9 hours for this thing

1. The crusaders in question are immediately east of the little broken tower which is northeast of the chapel and north/northeast of Hulrun.

2. Do not summon the Vrock after recruiting Ember. The crusaders in question 'spawn' being attacked by some centipedes, when you get close to their position. You need to save them first by killing that pod. Once they are in the clear, you can go back and summon the Vrock which will autokill them, leaving their kit behind including the Mithral Heavy Shield +2. Their inventories may only get issued drop items after they leave combat-state (alive) for the first time.

I did literally none of this. They still appeared and died just fine, I don't know what the issue with others is; I can absolutely confirm though I got ember, completed the summoning, went to the spot, still picked up the shield. I did this just last night;

If there is one thing I do want to note, is sometimes the bodies get decimated to oblivion so if you don't really search where the bodies "should" be, or have the highlight loot mod (I would lose a LOT of loot without this), even with it sometimes the bodies are so "gone" it doesn't highlight but the hand icon will show up and I can "loot".

This is good to know. Thank you. The shield has never been there for me summoning immediately after Ember, but only when I tried after. It makes sense that it could be a location/highlight problem. I didn't realize that there was a 'highlight loot' mod. I'm definitely getting that. Cheers.

yeah, in my game, i never encountered that group of guys being attacked by centipedes or whatever.
but then i also summoned the vrock immediately after recruiting ember.
i rushed to save ember, because i read elsewhere that if you don't, she can get killed, so i went to get her immediately

So since i never got the shield, i did a bit of testing, and it seems there is a strange bug, that bodies of the crusaders will not be lootable nor highlighted. Their bodies will be lootable only when you initiate the fight with the vrock. And once you kill the vrock the bodies are not lootable again, so you need to loot them while you are fighting.

Their bodies will be lootable only when you initiate the fight with the vrock. And once you kill the vrock the bodies are not lootable again, so you need to loot them while you are fighting.

Okay so it seems the crusader bodies also disappear after about an in game day. So if you are not able to loot it within a day after you summoned the vrock, it will be gone.
