Yeah I saw. Just wanted it for WotR. lol I'll make due I guess. I have other ways I can play. Just slightly disappointed :P
Then there are actual dedicated summoning archetypes.
Bard- Beast tamer
Cleric- umm something herald?
inqusitor- Monster tactician
Alchemist- preservist
Bloodrager- Green something (LOL IF U EVER CHOOSE THIS)
Your issue isnt whether the game has a class that supports the playstyle, or that items are in the game for it, or that a system isnt designed for it. None of those things. Your issue with it should be that summons arent very strong.
I believe Owlcat once commented on having to make custom assets for eidolons would make the Summoner class too expensive to make, however the CotW mod for kingmaker was able to use existing assets and those elemental “filters” and offer a wide variety of options that didn’t look amateurish at all. The biggest problem with the mod’s version is the Evolution interface, which Owlcat would be much better equipped to handle.
