Level cap to low
So playing in the current version so does the level cap feel way to low. I am at the start of the fifth chapter and already hit level 20. All thanks to the lovely boneship and rogue maps. But being at level 20 at this point is a bit...dull. Since leveling up is after all a part of the game.

Toybox has an option to remove the cap.

Pathfinder stops at level 20. Though Legend can go up to 40 as part of its mythic path progression. But even then you are locked to 20 levels in any one class. Or 10 levels in prestige classes.

Level 20 charaters are at the height that a mortal can get. After lvl20, we are talking about outsiders and divines.

Keep in mind that, in this setting, a typical lvl20 Fighter is something that happens every few THOUSAND years, and when it does, the guy is a Legion Slayer, that goes through whole armies of at maximum lvl5 people, alone.
These types of D&D-like games place a lot more emphasis on aquiring gear with great powers, rather than levels.

I am aware...its just that you outlevel the game so damn fast with the islands you visit. It feels like they should increase the level cap in the game.

Still doesn't change the fact that the leveling pace of the game is now not matching the intended game. They should change the level cap in the game, we shouldn't have to mod it.

There is a certain appeal in having a chance to appreciate nearly two whole acts with your max leveled characters. At the other spectrum we get to mythic rank 10 like right before the final battle in act 6. Which many find too little time to fully enjoy become something distinctly non-mortal.

I believe something right in the middle of both extremes would have been better: faster mythic rank progression throughout the plot and a slower level progression via fewer encounters and/or reduced exp gain.

The level cap is fine and simply hitting level 20 does not put you at character progression cap, because you also have mythic ranks that are part of character progression.

What we need is more endgame content to be played at cap when the build is already done. For most mythics, chapter 5 is not played at cap, only Threshold and Inevitable Excess are.

Sure that one mythic rank left (I am at 9/10) that I have is really exciting as it happens just before the final battle. To me a RPG is a lot about character progression and suddenly there is nearly none. I get that some want "end game content" at level cap like in a mmo. But for me so is that not really the goal. The progression is the goal itself.

To put it in perspective tho, Baldur's Gate 3 is not going to let you get to level 20 cause level 20 is considered to be the pinnacle of mankind. That's what makes Mythic Hero such a big deal.

Baldur's Gate 3 is stuck in Early Access Hell, and by now, when it actually releases, it will be a massive disappointment.

Which is strange because you will face hundreds to thousands of fighters who are level 14+ in a single playthrough...

It is a bit easier in Wrath of the Righteous (which fits the lore of the game). In Kingmaker I've beaten the game twice but I never got beyond level 19 ( excluding a secret companion Tartuk/Tartuccio ; no DLCs except for the one with the two tielfing sisters).

The demon lords went all in to win their fight for the Worldwound, I guess. That being said, human enemies decline significantly in the second half of the game.

Well, so 3-6 lvl more would be nice, so you could turn you companions into another class and can get 20 lvl there. Maybe i will get a mod to change this...
