DLC 1 (Inevitable Excess) chronologically takes place right before the final boss, but most people seem to recommend doing it after you finish the game as to not interrupt the pacing. You can import your character into this one if you're at the right place in the main campaign, otherwise you can just start with a new level 20 character.
DLC 2 (Through the Ashes) takes place between the prologue and act 1, you have to make a new character for this one. You can do this one whenever.
DLC 3 (Treasure of the Midnight Isles) can be played either from the main menu in a "rogue-lite" mode, or in your main campaign starting in act 3 (the quest shows up in your room eventually), then a second section opens up in act 4 and the third during act 5.
The first two DLCs give you some rewards in the main campaign at certain points but only if certain conditions are met. Worth looking up the rewards if that's what you want. I think you have to keep the DLC's save file for the rewards to show up, but they show up in any new game you start after.
Third DLC's rogue-lite mode doesn't give you any rewards but if you do it in your main campaign you can keep whatever you find during it.
stupid private profile ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... that you say are not true!!!!
Thanks so much it was well explained for me
Want try dlc 2 later with my old save.
Now I shall start dlc3 stand alone
Edit: yeah okay, there were some interesting stuff there. But is it pure RNG what you get or can you go for a specific item?
I have play now the dlc stand alone. It was fun!
I have beat the first islands so will do next run now. It be harder and harder?
"First boss" was not hard on core...
- Main Campaign Act 1
- DLC 2 Through the Ashes
- Back to Main Campaign
- Visit DLC 3, Treasure of the Midnight Isles, intermittently during the rest of the campaign for some sweet loot and XP
- Stop at the final boss
- Do DLC 1, Inevitable Excess, because it takes place right before the final boss
- Finish Main Campaign and any post-campaign things, depending on the ending you got
I read... Import your victories into the main story. Im already in act 2 now... can I start a Through the Ashes run now and it be importet in main game automatic?
