you might want to hold on to ingridients allowing you to craft potions of mage armor, they can be very useful for the archmage armor mythic ability
That's not what he meant. Some of the vendor trash says or implies that they are crafting items.
I hardly think of cooking, scroll-scribing, and alchemy as "crafting", but sadly it's all we have.
It offer's you scrolls and potions that you can get dirt cheap/free everywhere so it is just a rp thing.
That's not really accurate. The potions and scrolls you find throughout the game only have default caster levels. You can potentially craft some cool stuff like Heal potions at CL15 and all kinds of handy scrolls at up to CL20. Or 28 if you're a Legend, or . . . 30 if you're a Lich or Angel. But seriously unless you get Scribe Scroll for free, it's not a great idea to put crafting feats on your MC.
In any case, you are not going to find CL20 Transformation scrolls just lying around for your Rogue to use. Not gonna happen.
Anyone looking to craft potions definitely should be crafting Mage Armor potions. If I recall, there was a bug where Mythic Mage Armor would trigger on potions but not scrolls, which is silly. Not sure if that's still a problem. CL20 Mage Armor potions are less likely to be dispelled than CL1 potions, though of course some mobs will knock out CL20 spells like they're nothing anyway, so caveat emptor.
My suggestion is to stash as many crafting materials as you can and hire some mercenaries for scroll/potion production, depending on what you really want. Adding Brew Potion and Mythic Brew Potion to an active character just makes them weaker, for example, but you'll need that to get Heal potions. You should have plenty of downtime in Drezen later in the game waiting for stuff where you can rest in the safety of your room while crafting every time you snooze.
Feel free to get creative with scrolls. Just be advised that there aren't infinite materials for scrolls and potions. Unless you cheat them into existence.
I myself never borthered using crafting.
Repurpose is a wonderfull spell.
