Opinions on druid and the subclasses
I remember thinking when playing kingmaker that druid looked pretty "meh" but its there if that was your thing.

Fey subclass has charisma for casting, thats neat, looks not so great in other places.
Primal looks like the best option, str is always nice, and there is mythic stuff for shapeshift.
Blight druid lacks pet, but is it more fun than base druid?

If i went primal would the companion from azata cancel out the dinosaur you get from your class?

No it wouldn't. You can have both the class pet and the Azata pet.

Personally I think Drovier is the strongest druid archetype because of Communal Aspect.

Back when loremaster wasnt working, fey druids were wrecking the game. Angel fey druids were PKing everything, and then touch of glory got even more busted, and they got more busted.

They are still the best druids, but the distance has closed a bit. Wisdom just isnt as powerful as charisma.

It’s missing a bunch of key spells and feats from P&P to make it truly great, and the Beast Form line of spells were intentionally neutered by Owlcat (You should be able to be a Smilodon with 3 attacks and pounce for Beast Shape II, Druid level 6 for instance), but it’s still a decent caster class with some nice mix of support, defensive, and offensive spells. The Rampager was a ton of fun and very effective when paired with the Demon Mythic (those demon polymorphs are are pretty swell).

Does anyone know why they nerfed shapechanging into oblivion? Was it ever talked about by Owlcat?

After touch of glory got fixed, Wisdom became far more powerful than Charisma. Aspect of shadow demon + aspect of balor + bound of possibility = +14 wisdom at MR10. The strongest divine caster is not angel, but demon.

If I had to hazard a guess, it would be that creature models were more limited at the time when whoever coded the Beast Shape spells did so in Kingmaker, and they never bothered to update the spells after more models became available. I can't think of why else they they'd use a Wyvern (Dragon, illegal option in PnP) for Beast Shape IV instead of a Hodag or Manticore (Large Magical Beasts, legal) and also roll Shambling Mound into BSIV as well. It sucks they didn't go back and revise for Wrath either, because the Demon Polymorphs are quite cool and varied.

For the record, here are some PnP-appropriate options they could have used for the spells in terms of creature models they had available at launch for Kingmaker:

Beast Form I - Wolf, Leopard, Giant Frog, Dog (small), Boar, Monitor Lizard, Elk
Beast Form II - Bear, Smilodon, Dire Wolf, Dire Boar, Megaloceros
Beast Form II - Mastodon, Megalania (upsize monitor lizard), Trollhound, Dweomercat
Beast Form IV - Winter Wolf, Hodag, Manticore, Owlbear
Plant Shape I - Mandragora
Plant Shape II - Shambling Mound
Plant Shape III - Treeant, Scythe Tree, Quickwood, Giant Flytrap

Many of those would have been far more useful than what we ended up getting, and useful earlier as well.

Thanks for posting that. I wanted to do shape change play through, but i find I am not bothering to shape change cause the options are poor.

You can still have fun with a shapechange character, especially if you go Demon Mythic, it's just that the early to mid game options are poor when they didn't need to be. Smilodon, the larger Elementals, Dragonkind line of spells are all good at least situationally, especially with that polymorph Mythic ability.

Not everyone wants to play Demon, though. There are plenty of good reasons not to, like no spellbook merge. Or you know, they already played Demon and are just sick of it.

This hurts, because I posted a photo of a shapechanger doing 450 damage per hit, with 8 attacks.

True, i was merely speaking from an angel perspective. Demon would make better divine casters with wisdom.
