Anyone role playing their council decisions/ crusade events?
Or just merely picking what's more practical? I'm trying to role play, but sometimes the effect of the most fitting decision for me is simply underwhelming. Regill suggesting to pick officers from your most experienced troops just gives your generals +10% EXP feat which wouldn't make much difference compared to other choices like +10% Infirmary, +5 combat morale (very valuable) or even +1 level combat maneuver. Or Dwarven Property event where you have to choose to give dwarves back their golems (lawful) or to keep them for yourself. I really wanted to give them back, but the option to keep them in your Drezen walls gives you 300 valuable military experience.

So have you ever sacrificed obviusly better practical outcome for role playing reasons?

I dont consider it roleplay, but I do usually pick my alignment. As for troop composition, it really depends on the general i am using.

If im using a wizard, ill probably take rangers, dwarves, paladins
If im using a Ranger, ill probably take slingers, spearmen, raiders
If im using a warrior, ill probably take snipers, Champions, Hedgehunters

went once with all the evil choices, like using prisoners and bandits for crusade mode, not the best composition but whatever one mage general can carry the whole crusade

Convicts tend to have pretty bad morale. Its not easy to make them function correctly.

Picking what is more practical.
I did read it in the beginning and tried to RP my decissions but quickly figured out that it doesn't really make a difference, so ended up not even reading those, just what you get out of it.
