I'm not one who goes into the weeds on stats and efficiency, though. So if that's the kind of opinion you want, you probably want someone else's than mine. They do have one weird deficit, which is that even with heavy armor feats, they still can't wear metal armor. Still, there are some alternatives you can find.
I had to sell it, but it looked good. It was specifically for Wildshape.
That was around level 14 or 15.
Having an animal companion and 9th level spells automatically makes you a strong class. Being able to merge spellbook with Angel is just icing on the cake.
Wildshape is underwhelming but Druids really shouldn't be fighting in the melee. That is what their pet is for. They should be treated as backline casters.
Their spells are more offensive than Clerics, especially at higher spell levels. Compare a clerics 9th level spells with a Druids. Night and day difference when it comes to variety,
They are also exceptional at summoning and buffing animal companions.
Personally I would have more fun with a 10 in every stats mono class fighter than a min/max druid if you really must know where I rank them...
But also because the wild shapes are unfairly biased towards mammals. Both Kingmaker and WotR feature a wide range of animals that could be utilized for wild shapes: giant frog, giant lizard, giant eagle, mastodon, boar, moose, thylacine, triceratops and velociraptor to name a few. But nooo... we're stuck with wolves, bears, leopards and smilodons. Boring. Same with plant wild shapes. Why no mandragora or venus fly trap? Why limit plant shapes to shambling mound only? *grumble*
Having more exotic pets would have been a worthy addition to WotR as well. Specially with the whole mounting going on. Giant slugs, giant frogs, giant flies, thylacines and giant eagles all are fair game in PnP. Their assets are done and ready for re-use. No reason not to have them around. *grumble2*
While I agree, I would not mind single form druid either, where form you have adopted as your Wildshape form would also grow stronger, when druid develops.
It would be cool to adopt a form like a bear (for example) and just focus on developing your character around it.
I dislike turning in to elemental, but of course the most powerful form available would be Huge Elemental.
By the way: Smilodon is already available for druid at level 10.
Frostbite, Produce Flame, Flameblade, Shillelagh etc would have helped out at low levels, Explosion of Rot and Strong Jaw later on. Being able to choose things like Stirges, Satyrs, Elementals with Summon Nature's Ally would have made the spontaneous casting more useful as well. Planar and Powerful Wildshape feats and Feral Combat Training would have added more versatility to that feature, as would expanding the available shapes. In PnP for instance, you would be able to become a Medium Leopard with 3 attacks at level 4, a Large Smilodon with 3 attacks and Pounce at level 6, and a Huge Mastodon with trample at level 8, in addition to the Plant forms too at various levels. Note all those creature models were already implemented in Kingmaker.
If anyone has played Kingmaker with the Call of the Wild mod, that adds everything I just talked about except the summon expansion and Smilodon at 6, and Druids are way more fun, powerful, and versatile as consequence.
Restarterius strikes again and there is no know cure.
"Would I take a Druid over the Cleric(Ecc) of Erastil or Gozreh? Or even over Nature Arcanist"
Thus, I can't really give a positive mark to the Druid. Ok, Ele Rampage is fun(great job on that homebrew), but that's about it. If it had Nature Fang or Halcyon, it'd be much better.
Wildshaping is cool but the amount of damage and defence you get from it can be gained by a fighter naturally but outright still perform better.
Druid is a flavor class in my eyes, gimicky you might say.
