Lore Master question (bard ability, not the class)
Game description says:
At 5th level, the bard becomes a master of lore and can take 10 on any Knowledge or Lore skill check that he has ranks in. A bard can choose not to take 10 and can instead roll normally.

I just now noticed that this ability needs toggling on and is not automatic. Does this mean that if it's toggled on, my character uses 10 instead of rolling even when 10 is not enough for the skill check? Game does not clarify this.

If it needs to be toggled on or off on demand, this to me sounds very stupid since it adds completely unneccessary and easily forgotten step. I mean if you play tabletop and roll the dice yourself, you don't forget to decide whether to use the ability or not. But when rolls are automatic, how can you remember to toggle that on/off when necessary?

Yes, that's how it works. I like the ability a lot but I tend to forget to toggle it off when switching from an area map to the world map. That's kind of annoying because there seems to be no way to toggle it off from there.
