Engraved Lucky Bracers? They Important?
This might seem like a weird question, but when I notice that EVERY character starts with these bracers, and they have that cryptic "I Promise" engraving, along with my name, it makes me think this will have some payoff narratively later? Or perhaps, like Radiance, they will be upgraded or something?

Am I overthinking it and these are just "here's a default bit of stat boosts so you are slightly less squishy, but we expect you to replace this ASAP" kind of thing?

Ok cool. I was mostly just wanting to make sure that they weren't like Radiance, where if you forget to have it in your inventory or something, you miss out on content/upgrades. Thanks.

They are very good for tank character. Free +1 AC (luck) which is not easy to get.
Wish they also gave +1 luck to hit.

Some1 mentions you have the bracers . So there is dialog involved but i think thats it

If you want to earn the secret ending without using guides, you have to start putting the pieces together early for what has happened to you and why. The bracers are one of many hints that can push your thinking in the right direction.

There's also one unique line of dialogue from Areelu later in the game if you've held onto the lucky bracers until then.

She has said - quite emphatically - "I promise" - to characters who no longer had or were wearing those bracers. Maybe you mean something else ...

BTW: "I promise" is song #70 on the official soundtrack for the game.

EDIT: Ok, found the dialogue you're speaking of.

they are a hint, but alot of why and what etc is only fully explained in act 5 and only if you pay full attention. Let's just say they are a hints in relation to what's really going on in a sense. There's also a hint in act 6 but I think most people miss it, and no it's not something Areelu says, it's something that's focused on, in Threshold.

Think there's another item with the words 'I promise' and by then you should fully understand what it means and why she's so focused on you.

And yes those items have a role per say, you don't need to wear them, just keep them with you.

Ok cool. Thanks. I'm still in the Abyss (sooo...Act 4 I think?), so I haven't triggered it yet I guess. As long as I don't handicap my story content if I actually take them off my wrists, I'm fine.

At worst if you really want to make certain, make a save before entering the palace. Then reload if a certain someone doesn't mention them if you really want that reactivity that is involved. And yes I think it does have an impact in the long run, I think.

Eh, if having them in my inventory is good enough to trigger it then I'm fine. I've been wearing them up through Act 4 in case it actually mattered, but it just seemed to be a whole lot of nothing.

The +1 Luck to AC item is unique. I've used it on my main from the start of the game to the very end.

Yes, something happens as they are indeed unique. It's just a very small thing though and it doesn't upgrade like radiance.
