She has said - quite emphatically - "I promise" - to characters who no longer had or were wearing those bracers. Maybe you mean something else ...

Think there's another item with the words 'I promise' and by then you should fully understand what it means and why she's so focused on you.
And yes those items have a role per say, you don't need to wear them, just keep them with you.
Ok cool. Thanks. I'm still in the Abyss (sooo...Act 4 I think?), so I haven't triggered it yet I guess. As long as I don't handicap my story content if I actually take them off my wrists, I'm fine.
