How do you handle undead parties?
So I would love to do a Damphir character next playthrough, but I'm really not sure how that works out logistically.

So much healing comes from Channeling or Mass Heal (later in the game): how do you handle mixed parties?

Mass Inflict Wounds and Harm.

Lichs also come with spells that give living party members some of the properties of undead (Blessing of Unlife) and an undead healing spell (Restore Undead).

Are you planning a non-Lich undead party? How many undead will you use?

you might want to go full lich dhampir and recruit all the undead companion.

who need heal when you can just inflict wound

- Make him the tank so he almost never gets hit
- Consider something that gets bonus HP (per round?) like bloodrager, so even if he does get hit it does not drain the actual hp-pool
- Last stand or even better last stand + some kind of teleport and he can get away in case he actually was somehow dropped to 1 hp
- Or mb you could use some spells on him that restore hp every round, I guess those do not care for the negative-energy affinity
- Or if it is not MC you can even just consider letting him die in case and have a revive machine nearby to fix that

I went mage/lich and cast Blessing of Unlife on my living party members which make them count as undead. With some metamagic and legendary powers most of my spells lasted for days. My party could recklessly charge into combat along with my undead ones and I just doled out mass harms. Obliterated the enemy while fully healing and empowering my party. It was glorious.

They could also travel a good distances without becoming fatigued, due to the long term effect of Blessing of Unlife.

Thanks for the answers. I'm also just wondering about being able to function with your non-undead companions.

Given channel and heal mass are so important for healing, do you find that you can't really have your companions (the ones you don't create yourself) in your party with you?

I manged with a half undead half living party most of the game and it was fine. Undead Cleric minion was good for extra heals.

As I mentioned, Lichs can cast a spell to give your non-undead companions a buff that makes them mostly undead. Are you thinking of running a non-Lich party?

I used Camellia, Daeran and Wendu in my Lich party. The other half is undead. I keep up Blessing of Unlife on Camellia and Wendu. They heal from harm spells, which I have Daeran cast.

In practice this isn't a game where healing matters all that much in combat, at least on normal and core. I dont keep Cam and Wendu undead for healing reasons, but mainly for the useful immunities.
