Imp 2weap and greater gives you more attacks pr round, and 2handers tend to be more sIow.

If you use one weapon only, you get a second attack when your base attack bonus reaches +6, a third when it reaches +11 and so on. For a fighter base attack is the same as the character level. Many other classes have a slower bab-progression.

If you use two weapons you'll get an extra attack, even if your bab is still below 6.
But be careful, the penalty is huge, if you don't have the necessary feats.

There is no difference if you use a two-handed weapon, it's that bab that counts. And of course some feats on mid/higher levels if you use two weapons.

Base Attack Bonus (BAB)
Each creature has a base attack bonus and it represents its skill in combat. As a character gains levels or Hit Dice, his base attack bonus improves. When a creature’s base attack bonus reaches +6, +11, or +16, he receives an additional attack in combat when he takes a full-attack action.

It's link to your level and your class. For example a fighter get 1 BAB per level. a rogue 3/4 and a wizard 1/2.

Fighter: 1,2,3,4... (high)
Rogue: 0,1,2,3,3... (medium)
Wizard: 0,1,1,2,2... (low)

A mutilcass level -> 2 fighter / 2 rogue / 1 wizard (BAB 2+1+0 = 3)

You can also end up with quite a few natural attacks, which are added on to your weapon attacks, if you play your cards right, although they're not so accurate without magic fang.

awesome thank you guys

Also you only get these extra attacks when you make a full-round attack (when the enemy is next to you in melee or already in range of your bow) . If you move before attacking you only get one attack for that round.

Also the haste spell gives everyone 1 extra attack per round for the duration of the spell.

BAB progression like other said but some class like monk can add flurry + extra attack ki power to add another attack. Check the BAB progression by hovering the level number when you level up

Base attack bonus increases per level depend on class. Every 5* bab you get a melee attack. If dual weilding its feat dependant for offhand.

Haste gives you an extra attack.

Check thr fist icon ina class tree to see which levels give you bab or not.

Edit ita 5 not 4 bab. After ur 1st bab
Next 5 bab gives u 6 bab. At 6 bab next 5 bab gives you 11 bab. At 11 bab next 5 bab gives you 16

It's actually every 5 BAB after BAB1. That is, you gain an extra attack at BAB 6, 11 and 16.

Eek gotta make.a correction its like mork said at 6 bab. 11 bab and 16 bab. So its every 5 bab not 5 after u get 1 bab.

If u go trickster u can get full bab for.ur level in whatever class ur using at end of chapter 4. Mythic trick athletics rank 3.

Its kinda late but helps for feats or ifnur a wizard or a class withour full bab
