How to find & Upgrade Finnean the Talking Weapon

1. Get Finnean at Shop of Ancientries & Wonders.
To reveal this map area, recruit Woljif at the Tavern Basement in Chapter 1, go to the Thieflings Hideout, return to Tavern & speak with Irabeth, then head towards the newly revealed Shop area.
2. Upgrade Finnean to +3 by doing the Wintersun "Find the Missing Crusaders" Quest as soon as Chapter 3 starts.
After you finish it, a random encounter with some Baphomet Cultists will trigger as you walk around the Worldmap.
Remember to talk to Finnean about it, and he'll be upgraded to +3.
3. Upgrade Finnean to +5 by going to the Bladesmith Workshop area in Chapter 5.
If you release Finnean's soul, you'll be be stuck with a +5 Finnean Longsword, meaning you can't change it into another weapon.
Do note that for some reason, the +3 version actually has stronger properties than +5, and you can easily increase the +3 Enhancement to +5 with Greater Magic Weapon spell as soon as Chapter 3.
