Best you could do is throw a summon in the room while everyone’s out of it. They will get the surprise round but waste it on the dogs or what ever trash you summoned.
Also if you don’t like suprised don’t go on the roof of the tower….just don’t
Okay but I mean mechanically why, I walk into the room and can see them but they get a surprise round for some reason? Like they don't pop up and surprise you, their just standing there. And as far as I can tell there isn't any ability they have that would do it, but this game doesn't exactly make it easy parse the wall of noise the devs call a character screen.
It worked in Dogma.
AFAIK it's a first time when you're encountering Omox.
So party isn't suspect it = no Perception checks allowed.
It's actually a rule - you should suspect lie / threat to actually roll against Perception. If you meet an unknown girl who using illusion spell to colour her hairs into blonde - you are NOT allowed to roll a disbelieve Will check.
That doesn't make any sense they are obviously demons and just standing in the middle of the room. What exactly is surprising about that? I just ended up insta gibbing them with the toybox mod. If the devs are gonna be so inconstant and obtuse I might as well just zap the encounter. This dev team is the worst GM i've ever seen lol.
