Banishment / Dismissal
How does this Abjuration magic interact with Demons? What if I cast it on a random Glabrezu(or what have you) in Alushin? Does it work vs Mythic Demons? How about bosses?

It was my understanding that it was working only vs summons, but given that Demons ARE Outsiders and thus most likely Extraplanar(except in Act 4 maybe)...does it work like it reads it should?

Any news about this?
In Act IV, you are in the place the banishment spell sends demons to, so it probably "technically" works, it's just you are banishing them to the exact spot that are already standing in.

"I, Balthazar the Mighty Wizard, banish you... eh, to the Abyss!! Which is where we currently are.... Cower at my ingenuity!!"

Technically, they should be put back to whatever's their spawning point. And there multiple...layers(oh god, I don't know how to put this, I am too orderly for Abyss) or Domains of Abyss. I am pretty certain Colphyr isn't a part of Baphomet's domain. As an example.

Besides, all that matters is whether it works.

I'm getting around to doing more testing, lol. To be honest, I was already losing interest in my Azata run before all this. Act 3 was really fun, and I Dismissed enough demons to make it feel worthwhile, but I just really don't enjoy Act 4 on the whole.

I'll try to motivate myself to find at least a few more demons for more testing. For science.

Thank you. Do try to take more screens.

Azata is ok. I thought I'd like it more because I'm almost always Chaotic Good or Chaotic Neutral but Azata feels a bit... saccharine. And I'd trade Aivu for a merged spellbook in an instant, lol.

But it's mainly Act 4, I don't like questing in cities as much and the whole camera rotation thing is even more annoying. And by Act 4 I've seen all the ideas for my group come online and there's not much to look forward to anymore. D&D/Pathfinder combat is best in the mid levels, once you get to higher level it's just rocket tag and every fight tends to become the same.

The same thing happened with my Angel run.

his spell enables you to force Extraplanar creatures out of your home plane. As many as 2 Hit Dice of creatures per Caster Level can be banished.

This spell forces an Extraplanar Creature back to its proper plane if it fails a Will save. If the spell is successful, the Creature is instantly whisked away, but there is a 20% chance of actually Sending the subject to a plane other than its own.

Gorwe, Banishment is supposed to remove (i.e. banish) an extraplanar creature out of your home plane. This is usually assumed to be the Prime Material Plane, but it doesn't have to be. But, if the creature is already in its correct plane, like a Demon in the Abyss, there is nothing in the description of the spell that insinuates that they will be moved to a different part of their home plane. So, I would not call it a bug if a demon from one layer of the Abyss does not get sent back to that layer if a banishment spell is cast on them from a different layer of the Abyss. This seems to be working as designed.

Well, Azata is literally Peter Pan(with a Dragon). So... :) .

As for A4, it is my favorite Act. I already liked Kenabres well enough, but you were simply lacking tools. Now you don't and you can have fun. And in a very cool, pseudo middle eastern setting.

Acts 3 and 5 though? Yuck. And it's not even the Crusade, I simply hate these travel mechanics. These acts bore me to tears.

I'm shortly before Act 4. I was partly going by what has been reported here in the past, that it does work there... but that was a month or more ago so could have changed.

If it doesn't work there now, I guess I'll just respec.

From what I've seen so far, though, it seems to just kill enemies you can cast it on. They fall over dead like when you use Phantasmal Killer or something and I don't think I've missed out on any loot.

If it truly does work in A4, that...omg the Disenchanter!

Edit: Have a link about A4 and Banishment? I'm keen on knowing this(shouldn't work there and it's simple to facilitate: just remove "extraplanar" feat / type or what have you).
This build was for a aeon abjurer who focused banishment and such and he said he had no problems with I in act 4
