Where you HAVE to rotate the camera to shift buildings or bridges to get places, and then joyously have it pointing the wrong direction to go somewhere.
Some people like this. I don't. I mean, conceptually I get what they were aiming at (Abyss is chaotic), practically I wouldn't implement it this way.
The first time I went through, I was finally getting to understand camera control well by act 4, and then ... that. Sigh.
There is some Free Camera mod out there. People recommend it (esp. for Act 4). Haven't tried it.
Also the maps are very small in comparison to kingmaker. I mean astronomically tiny.
They pulled a dragon age o2 map style on us.
And praise devs for that. Because loading time was a major issue on Kingmaker even with SSD and I have no idea how people without it were able to play it.
AFAIK you should get a tooltip once arrived in Abyss with explanation of that mechanic - but devs screwed and you are not receiving it once disabled tutorials.
Though i think they games mostly loading scripts enemy ai buffs and seconds and objects. I mean these arent giant textures.
I dunno why the game doesnt run tighter than it should. What i priase thr devs for ia the story and mechanics working out.. Tho whole classes are still broken.
I actually like chapter 4 alot.. But it seems to take a bit to even load into 10k nights harem whatever
