Or try to figure out the flags you need to have active so you can use ToyBox.
His life choices can be interpreted in many ways, by Sosiel and through Sosiel interaction with Trevor, Trevor can have different reactions in the last part of the Act 4 Arena. He could be a hero making hard choices and when he meets you and Sosiel Trevor decides(because of shame) to become one for the first and last time in his life by sacrificing his life to buy time for his brother and brother friends.
Sosiel can be made to believe that Trevor is a monster (as he thinks Trevor is after he learns about Trevor life choices during the crusades). And in that case Trevor falls to despair and must be put down in the arena(because Sosiel accusations will finaly end Trevor hopes for good).
Or Sosiel can be made to be think Trevor is neither a hero or a monster but a victim. And when you meet Trevor in act 4 you get the chance to help him and rescue Trevor from the Arena in act 4. This is hard thing to do because:
1. Trevor actions do not predispose Sosiel to believe him as a victim , but either a hero or a monster.
2. You need to hear all of Trevor close companions stories to manage to convince Sosiel that no matter what happened Trevor is a victim of circumstances, war and demons.
That is all those checks and all the moves the guide tells you about recruiting Trevor. And you find about Trevor history during act 3 or act 2 , in act 4 Sosiel opinion about Trevor is made up (Trevor will die either in self sacrifice or fighting Sosiel or you in the Arena ) if you didn't convince that Trevor is a victim.
People should think about why those checks are. There not there for nothing. They are there to simulate this choices.
And I agree it is easy to miss companion, but not everything can be solved using just a speech in the 12 hour. In many instances you need to plan ahead and think about.
That aside here comes my question: as a companion, is he as fully "interactive" as all the others, banters, etc.? Obviously his interactions with his brother might be really interesting.... does he get an "ending" along with the others? (You can put that in spoiler tags.)
But the Battlebliss is the first thing you run into, but whatever, what do I know? lmao.
Anyway, for anyone goolging this in the future, read this before starting your playthrough https://www.altchar.com/guides/how-to-save-trever-in-pathfinder-wrath-of-the-righteous-a7y8b7W82tHV
Fextralife also says it's so simple. Just have Sosiel show him the shield. *I did.*
As noted earlier in the thread, it appears to rely on "correct" dialogue choices earlier in the game between you and Sosiel.
I have never managed to get Trever to do anything but die fighting the demons. Granted, only once was I really (I thought) trying to get a different outcome. Just to see how it would play out.
Were you supportive and honest? I think one of my key things I told him was that He found something he was good at, which was to him being a hellknight, yeah but i recruited this guy twice so i never even knew there could be a failure to get him.
