Wendu's reasoning for betrayal doesn't make sense. (Spoiler)(Trigger Warning)(Bugged Quest Warning)
In act 5 when Wendu finally betrays me for the Demon Monkey, her reasoning makes no sense. Demon Monkey wasn't a demon lord, even with mythic power he wasnt on the level of demon lords, and she's personally witnessed me kill 2 of them, correction 3 of them (the optional one in Nenio's quest counts), yet she would still side with the monkey makes no sense for someone who claims she does what he needs to to survive. Worse still, she knows im pretty much a Demon Lord myself with an entire Abyssal realm under my control. This is one of those personal quest that would have benefited from a little more oversight from a all writers hands on deck type of approach, because Wendu isn't dumb dumb, shes just kind of narrow minded, but this goes beyond that. Half the stuff she said i did i didn't do.

Like she mentions Dyra's murder but she didn't murder her or it wasn't brought to my attention during all of act 3, and i checked on them multiple times, I even stamped out her little game of trying to make her tribe more loyal to her, by making her kneel before me the way she made them kneel to her, further cementing that I'm the boss. Yeah but I never saw Drya get killed nor did Sull bring it up.

I'll never recruit Wendu again, shes just mad because I never bedded her, which is funny because at one point she acted likely we were a thing. With some kind of female self saving pride thing, it was pathetic lol, I thought she was just written to be delusional. I don't even want to kill, she just seems dumber than anticipated now.

also im convinced this whole questline from wendu's side is bugged, because she just told Lann that she was helping killing the Demon Monkey when in fact she was on its side.
Thanks for the spoiler.
Basically, as I've said a couple times ...

Really seems to work this way. If you pick her in the Prologue and romance her, she won't betray you. If you don't but (re)pick her up in Act 3 after picking Lann first, she will betray you for Savamalekh. May be path dependent didn't test on say Demon. But in all my paths, there doesn't seem to be a way to prevent it.

Except, as I've found tell her to pound sand in Act 3 evilly, she will come back in Act 5, but Lann literally practically dies at the same moment. BTW, I agree with your assessment. I get she respects power above all, but it doesn't seem rational for her to think Savamalekh is more powerful a master than you are at that point.

Anyway, in my 3rd playthrough, I finally got an epilogue for her. I still never chose her first over Lann.
Wendu gets upset at you for not er... playing with her. She used to having things a certain way, so you not, playing with her etc makes her feel rejected. Saw the betrayal coming due to how she was behaving and talking, she really does not handle rejection well. She kind of behaves afterwards, and turns into a demonslayer type after, or outsider hunter if you turn demigod, always returning near dead fighting unknown creatures from the beyond. But yeah she gets jealous and spiteful among a few other things. Your strong but your weak where it counts to her since she kind of judges you on the choices you make in a sense. But yeah the rejection even if it was just (oh I'm just curious if you where feeling that way.) gets her upset. She's doing everything to push you and piss you off, not as much because Savamalekh is considered stronger, she's just angry and uses him to get to you. Also she kind of starts loosing control of herself in act 4 etc... and unlike Lann she doesn't fight her addiction she just goes with it, which if you romance her I think she actively tries to resist it. She starts her berzerk mode in act 4 and goes full spin in act 5 until you knock her on her ass and force her to shake it off.
I think Wendu's behavior makes perfect sense. She's actually one of the most straightforward characters in the game, she wants power and will ally with whoever makes her the best offer at any point in time only to happily betray them the moment someone else offers more power. Simply convince her you're the strongest player in the game and she'll stick with you, otherwise she won't.
demon daddy promises prolonged lifespan for mongrels, its like a dream for them

wenduag without any magical interference will probably die by old age in 10 years at that point

so makes sense for her to consider that offer

then she doesnt hear very well because if she did she'd know there are ways to end her life on the surfacem she literally knows a lady whos older than she looks.
do you mean galfrey and the sun orchid elixier? wenduag chances for obtaining that would be really slim

galfrey herself gets it from the church of iomedae for her role in keeping the demon invasion at bay

and even if wenduag could get one it would only turn her back to the point of young adulthood, so add something around 5-15 years depending on when she would have it to her overall lifespan

she would need to spend the additional gathered time to immediately plan getting another elixier

demon daddy on the otherhand just gives you his juice and mongrels can live as long demon daddy judges them useful or entertaining

furthermore he can prolong more than one mongrels lifespan at a time compared to the sun orchid elixier

won't matter for wenduag because of compassion, but for keeping her position in power
