change from lb to kilograms
Hi,
I've tried to find it, but I can't find it. I want to change the weight system that shows things in lb (?) and change it into kilograms. Can anyone tell me where the option to change that is?

Thanks!

Given that I have zero experience with converting metric to pounds, I wouldn't know how to begin to do that. In any case, it isn't possible and it's highly likely it will never be done, so that's that.

But like why do you even need to convert it?

Like are you mentally converting gold coins into euros?

It's not like the game expects you to understand how many feet in a mile or inches in a foot or ounces in a pound. They aren't really using the imperial system, it's just generic names for units to give players an approximation of things.

The name for the game's mystery currency unit is "gold" or "gold coins
The name for the game's mystery weight unit is "pounds" or "lbs"
The name for the game's mystery distance unit is "feet" or "ft"

You aren't 5'6". you are "medium"...

It's like spell slots. None of the fiction uses the term spell slots. It's just how the mechanics are designed to reflect the fiction in a semi-balanced way.

That is one of main reasons I ignored this game. Not really into dealing with constant stupidity in any game that annoys me.

Why should I care about pounds when te metric system is used here? i was TRYING to close the discussion by leaving it open ended. I've looked at how it works and it makes absolutely no sense to me. The metric system on the other hand is neat and is easy to do. Now, can we please let this go? A bunch of comments were deleted and now it looks like I resurrected a topic from last year. Just let it be.

I am not particularly fond of BG3. But the way Larian added a toggle to fully switch measurement systems from imperial to metric on the fly was brilliant. That's something worthwhile for Owlcat to adopt in the future. Or any studio, really.

As for mods: all a potential mod author needs to do is change lines of text. That in itself is neither impossible nor difficult to achieve. But modifying virtually ALL items, spells and abilities is going to be quite the aggravating, monotous task. A very un-fun thing to do in one's freetime.

It is literally just double the weight from pound to kg

And now you're showing your own ignorance. According to google, one pound is APPROXIMATELY so it's not even an EXACT measurement, but it's approximately, 0.453kg.

Or, this means it's about 453 grams. 1 kg = 1000 grams. ergo, 500 grams is halve a kilogram.

2 pounds would be approximately 0.907 which translates to 907 grams. making it 93 grams short of an even 2 kg.

Conclusion: it's not double. Now, can we please let this topic drop? It's pointless to argue about it.

While as an european i have no idea what a pound is or 10 feet, it wont stop me from enjoying a good story and good gameplay.

Just bought it and will enjoy myself - thank you

Does the game use pounds? In the English version it is "lbs" which could, just as easily, mean Roman libra of 329 gm. How is it translated?

Actual pen and paper pathfinder uses the imperial system.

But the pc game doesn't. The game just counts "units" and calls them feet or lbs. But like if they actually used the the imperial system, then 0.5lbs would be in ounces.

And the imperial system (which was not adopted by the USA entirely) also covers a bunch of other measurement unit types that aren't used at all

It's simple: you pound the demons into a paste and you put your feet up their assess. Sorted.

Also this is a topic from 2021.... It's insane that the mods haven't locked it yet.
Kingdark 27 DIC 2024 a las 10:59
I would like to point out, that I did not resurrect the topic though, It may look like I replied to myself, but I answered another person's reply. And I agree this should be locked.
