lann or wenduag
this game confuses me...
Wenduag suggested that I should not share with the village chief I have the angel sword, because it will lead them to their death. that seem sensible.
but now I got this dialog that tells me this is the chaotic option, that will infuriate Lann + Wenduag is evil... So now I am conflicted...
though.. chaotic good being my favorite alignment perhaps I should roll with it hey?
what did you do there? how did it go?

Well I went with the chaotic choice.. and when Lann plead with me I said nothing....
If it was up to me I would have talked to Lann beforehand though... oh, well, such is pathfinder life, I suppose...

Choose Wendu. Thank me later.

Haha.. you posted same time as me!
I did! yeah!

Developers themselves have said it is an intended binary choice.

In most playthrus, only one is coming with you to the ending. I never picked her first ... you can have both for some time as if you don't at first you get an option later BUT ... as I understand it, if you want them both to be with you till the ending ... you must pick her first.

It's an RPG, some choices are not always obvious, and people lie. There's nothing confusing about it, just make your choices and live with the consequences. That's what RPGs are about.
I'm saying this, because this is not the only time this game will do something like this. Expect shenanigans of all types, duh.

I ran only with Lan and like his unshaken optimism and joy of life.

The question is do you plan on using the 3rd Archer, who is imho slightly better than both.

Lann imo . Has alot of uses for him.
Wenduag is stuck as martial.
I picked wenduag and romanced her on my 1st play . Was pretty good.
Tho i kinda like the possibilties as support for Lann and the stats are not that different.
More Will on Lann if anything

Contrary to what you'd believe, being evil(Wendu) don't really give you a better companion. Or better anything. Unless you want a literal Sith Apprentice.

Go with Lann.

Picked Lann each time in of my 2 playthroughs, I find he is nice to have around, and I like his jokes and general banter. His characteristics means it's very easy to build him into valuable cleric or druid if you don't want to pick up one of the other divine spellcasters or just need one more in your party (as Camelia doesn't count as a full divine spellcaster). And he won't be too bad with a bow either. Even going melee is not out of the question for Lann : he would just loose one feat, his other feat is already a good choice for melee.

I can't really speak about Wenduag personality, but by looking at her it seems that she could only become a very one dimensional character as a ranged damage dealer. As I usually require my party members to fill at least a couple roles, I would really struggle to find a place for her.

Vaguely spoilerish?

I finally figured out how to keep Wen to the end even if you take Lann in the Prologue. But it's literally an Act 5 swap. He dies, she returns. Like they say: binary choice.

At least finally on last playthru got to see an ending slide for her.

I kinda bristle at constantly being called "master". I would like to tell her she is not my "slave" ... I understand she changes her outlook if you romance her, but ... eh, kiss of the spider woman, no.

Wenduag is very boring if you don't go multiclassing. She has just attack action. No combat skills or spells.
seeker1 Dec 1, 2021 @ 6:30am
She's set up as is to be a ranged shooter, like Lann. Even taking her as is and going forward I found you can make her a good dual-wielding fighter.

If you have the respec mod, even if you don't change the class, you can very much make her a different kind of fighter. Still not good stats for the "tanky" type.

If you want to mess with her stats ... well there is a way. :->

No thanks. Lann's questline is what Eder's should have been, and Lann is the only companion who sets up well to go in several different directions or just utterly slays with proper support as ZA.

Wend is boringly one dimensional, both quest and play, albeit effective.

Dual-wielding melee thrower is probably best. She tanks great thanks to Armor Training.

He's set up to melee with Bow if you want to melee, but I'd rather use that turn to full attack I think. He's much more effective if you turn off the Point-Blank toggle and go Longbow. That does waste Combat Rreflexes tho.

Mounted Archery works well with Huntmaster or any of the Hunter archetypes.
