Cleric of Pharasma and Animate Dead spells (Spoiler)
So, if you're playing as a Cleric of Pharasma and cast the animate dead line of spells in this game, do you actually get punished or given any flak at the end of the game when you (spoiler) meet the big P herself? I know that she'll roll your eyes at you if you're a Mythic Lich but is there anything else?

Or will this be like in Kingmaker where it doesn't actually matter (I mean, you're already partying up with an undead elf Inquisitor of Urgothoa. It doesn't get worse than that. In a proper tabletop game losing your spells/cleric powers is just the beginning of your worries lol.)

Edit: Grammar

Well, if you're a cleric of Pharasma and you can cast it, then it means she is allowing you to do it, so she has no right to complain. I think the list of divine spells should be restricted according to each deity or patron. Ember should not be granted Hellfire by a good patron.

You can cast Evil spells in general as a Good cleric too, and vice versa; such tabletop rule and lore restrictions aren't implemented in this game. Closest thing we get is the later Summon Monster spells changing based on alignment.

Pharasma has the Death domain. So if you read her profile, she is not opposed of you animating the dead temporally. She is opposed to you cheating death/fate. Animating bodies and skeletons to fight for you is fine. Making them intelligent and bypassing her by making yourself (or another) immortal in undeath...she is not happy with you. Hence why she rolls her eyes at a Lich.

**Minor Spoiler**

She gives you a debuff if you use Zach's wand to kill the undead when you retrieve it as her follower (was an Oracle Dhampir when I found this out). This is because you used a Lich's power to kill the undead.

According to the tabletop game, Pharasma's followers "view the undead with hatred and consider them a great abomination. They view putting the undead to rest as a holy duty. The creation of undead is outlawed". So yes she would absolutely be opposed to you casting animate dead, though if you aren't worried about role-playing then Kingmaker/Wrath won't stop you from casting it.

Seems a bit odd for a deity with the Death Domain to oppose the creation of minor undead. Thanks for the heads up though.

I'm aware that deities who are non-evil and has access to the Death domain have a slightly altered spell list in tabletop where spells like animate dead are replaced.

Edit: But thanks for everyone's input! Guess it's fine for me to cast those those spells in WotR then.

You can always just not use them. Like how I didn't use Hellfire on my WW(replaced by Polar Ray). But there aren't some harder TT restrictions, no.

Aye, that's the plan. But I'm asking this mostly out of curiosity because I'm not going to play through the entire game just to see if Pharasma says something different in the end when you finally meet her if you do decide to animate the dead vs when you don't.

Although it's pretty clear by now that it's not going to make her raise an eyebrow if you do cast them although using the Lich's staff in the quest seems to do something according to Arch up there.

To clarify it was I think a 30 minute Buff/debuff icon of her holy symbol. It didn't give any stats as to what it did, but it did say specific Pharasma gives you an indication she was not pleased with that action. Or something along those lines. I was playing a Dhampir Oracle at the time and I don't think anything stat wise was done, but that was when it was super buggy...so maybe it didn't add it in. Needless to say I replayed that fight and just took the wand. No other character had that happen on since. I am not sure if it happened due to having her as a deity or if I was playing an Oracle. I would assume it was due to being a worshiper, since I got Torag's blessing at the Defender's heart as a Paladin and Calistria's blessing when fighting Staunton at Drezen. Anyways, just wanted to be clear since you brought it up. :)

In pnp, all spells a caster would get that have the undead trait (like animate dead), are replaced for a follower of pharasma. So a cleric of pharasma wouldn't get animate dead, they would get speak with the dead instead. Same with create undead, being replaced by antilife shell and the greater version replaced by symbol of death.
