Increasing movement distance for armour users
Hello reader!

Is there a feat you can get to negate the -10 movement penalty for armour?

The are various means to do this but all of them come at a cost. I think there are feats you can take but then these feats must perforce come at the expense of other feats that are usually more important than speed. There are also spells, such as Effortless Armour. Seelah gets this for instance but this is self-cast only spell and she doesn't get many spell slots so other spells competing for the same slots are often more important.

In the end the most effective solution is simply the Haste spell. The effectiveness of Haste in getting heavily armoured characters from A to B PDQ is why I am in fact no expert on this matter - I simply stopped worrying about it.

The fighter class (and some armor-focused archetypes of certain other classes) give Armor training, which in addition to reducing penalties and increasing the DEX cap also remove the speed penalty at certain levels.

Also before you get the haste the level one spell expeditious retreat and Druid/Ranger/Hunter spell Longstrider both increase the speed of the caster (functionally negating the penalty). They’re both personal-only spells but you might be able to get and use wands, potions, or scrolls for them.

- Fighter armor training level 7
- Haste
- Effortless armor (personal spell)
- Expeditious retreat (personal spell or casted by a alchemist)
- Mitral ?
- Armored Hulk barbarian level 2 and 5
- Longstrider (personal spell Druid/Ranger/Hunter)
...

some classes focused on heavy armor get a class feat to improve their movement, otherwise there are also some other stuff that can help to increase your movement speed passively like travel domain or second curse lame

spells are your best option but you have to recast them regularly

if you have an animal companion, mounted combat can also compensate for your lacking movement speed
Haste is a heckin amazing spell, it's just a faff to try to keep active - the reason I ask is I have a Halfling Paladin who is... quite slow. xD

I think paladin gets effortless armor spell. You can also get a mount at level 5 which makes movement speed, and even wearing heavy armor a non issue
Doh. Not only am I Divine Guardian so don't get spells, but I also picked Divine Weapon at level 5. :'D In this playthrough I'm letting my friends have their own characters in my party, they've chosen the class/race/weapon preference and I'm now trying to make it work. I did try to pressure my friend into putting his halfling on a horse, but he was adamant about halfling feet needing to be on the ground at all times.

Animal aspect raptor gives you 30 speed buff

I'm confused, You're an halfling paladin... why are you in heavy armor and not doing a dex unarmored build ?

I dunno :( I thought heavy armour and shield is the Paladin's thing

Impossible Speed Mythic. Though it COULD be a Mythic added by Tabletop Tweaks, unsure. But I would never use some companions like Graybor without it. He's simply garbage at 20 speed.

If you get a Druid Drovier merc I think they can share the raptor aspect with the party. I had one for half a playthrough but honestly forgot to use it most of the time because if haste was up it was unnecessary

i just wear mithral armor then you dont get the speed minus but haste is great to
Oh! Mithral is a great idea - I hadn't even considered that. Thanks!

It's proven to be not a huge deal since I respecced my main character to a light-cavalry type dex build cavalier elf on a battlecat. The paladin is slow as heck, but she can use her guard ability on the party support and hang back to deal with strays. Redirecting the single attacks from charges/walk-n-hit blows has saved that shaman's butt a few times now.
